Review titled Medication review
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Spoke to the pharmacist and she was fantastic. Walked me through my new medication and how to take it correctly and what side effects to look out for and put everything I needed on a repeat prescription along with advice on what medicines to avoid. Very grateful for her time and assistance.

Review titled Wonderful Pharmacist
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Caring and empathetic, went out of her way to resolve medication side affect issues. On two separate occasions promises were made to make enquiries which were completed with timeous return calls made.

Review titled Very poor system for appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Paul clarke - Posted on 30 August 2024
Called in yesterday. Receptionist said I needed to call the next morning after 8 am for a doctors appointment. Did that and was 10 th in queue. Was called back after about an hour to be told the system was full for that day and I would need to come into the surgery to get a system slot at 8 am next day. I asked why this could not be done today to be told again the system was full for the day and usually gets full by 8-30 am. Receptionist and telephone operator were very polite and I feel sorry for them . The system runs the practise. I asked to speak to the practise manager and they were on holiday for the day…….. I’ve now made other arrangements. Shame on headlands surgery for allowing a ‘system’ to run their practise and affect patients wellbeing. I would like the practise manager to call me.

Review titled Great staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Carole Ashcroft - Posted on 08 August 2024
I have just had a medication review with a pharmacist at Headlands Surgery. That is the most thorough and inclusive review I’ve ever had, anywhere. Very professional and thorough yet so friendly; her listening and communication skills are exceptional. She left me feeling safe and ‘heard’ and I was not overly rushed. Importantly, she ensured that I fully understood and was able to retain the information (without any hint of patronizing). I really hope I come across her again.

I had a call from the headlands pharmacist today to discuss my medication and to offer any help I may need after answering the questioner. The young lady was very helpful and also supportive of the issues I am dealing with.

The fantastically helpful pharmacist at this practice arranged a large number of medications be changed for PEG delivery….and I was able to pick them up the same day. She even followed up with us to make sure everything was OK.

Review titled Excellent support from practice pharmacist
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by ann-marie black - Posted on 07 July 2024
The practice pharmacist has been wonderful in her support with new medication I am taking. I have recently gone from taking no medication to 5 tablets per day and she thoroughly checked I was okay with the medication and followed up shortly after to ensure all was going well - she explained everything kindly, patiently and clearly and was very helpful.

Review titled New Asthma Nurse
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Advised New Asthma Nurse. Recieved 2024 review 2 mins over the phone. Not impressed at all and I appreciate the service needs stream lining and I’m all for it but I have access to my notes lol Trigger - emotions hmm .. considering my lymph nodes are all up and have been over ten days now which has an impact on my breathing maybe you will offer better advise at my 2025 review when I’m next booked in … overall I cannot moan about the service of the GPs but this gave me no reassurance at all . I doubt this would be fit for purpose for many patients.

Review titled Reception
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Virginia - Posted on 09 May 2024
Over the past couple of years , I’ve found the older lady with the grey short hair initial S as I’ve found you can’t include names the receptionist to be very helpful she seems to sense your urgency and for me anyway I’ve been very grateful that when I’ve walked in and have seen her she has been polite compassionate and helpful. If I walk through the door and see her on reception the relief is phenomenal. So I wanted to take the time to say a big thank you to all the team at headlands but especially her.
