Review titled Administration lacking direction
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Grahame Thomas - Posted on 28 October 2024
I came to Heath hayes surgery along with my wife for appointment at 6.12pm on 28/10/2024 for a flu and covid jab, we couldn't get near the surgery, car park full, cars coming, going, waiting, did everyone have appointment at the same time? Very poor system, whatever it is. Did not wait, will go elsewhere.

Review titled Awkward

Called last week as the medication on the prescription the GP sent to pharmacy is no longer available. The pharmacist kindly wrote down an alternative option and asked me to ask the GP to prescribed it instead, I called the surgery to be told you have to bring the paper with the name of the medicine written down to the surgery I said can't you take it over the phone? No she said rudely we have to scan it! Went in the surgery today with the paper and was told I didn't need to bring it, it could have been done over the phone! Honestly the receptionists make things so difficult for patients. I keep filling out patient surveys nothing changes no point asking people to complete them if you are not going to acknowledge feedback!!!

Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

Until recently parking at this practice was free - it still is - but they have now teamed up with ‘Civil Enforcement Ltd’ and installed ANPR cameras. Twice recently I have received a fine from this company because I took a relative there for an appointment and, not being a patient there myself, I didn’t know that I now had to obtain a ‘permit’ from within the surgery. Had they simply warned me I would have complied but I suspect they only interested in making money. I can’t even see how this new system will help anyone. The permits ate free and can be instantly obtained by anyone! I appealed the first fine but was ‘unsuccessful’ . My relative decided to just pay it. I am now wasting my time appealing the second one! This is a pointless worry we can well do without. Its making us ill. So much for healthcare!

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you have had a parking fine. The system was put into place due to the limited parking available being used by shoppers and patients attending neighbouring dental practice and osteopath service. All patients were notified prior to the system starting and the car park is clearly sign posted that you need to register to obtain free parking. We also have 2 7feet signs as you enter the Practice advising you to log your registration into the parking machine. We do not ask for payment and we do not get any monies from the system. We do now have improved access to parking at the practice, this has helped Patients to park free when attending the practice. Regards Pauline Practice Manager

Feeling annoyed, after waiting over 2 wks for a blood test result, finally ive had to go to the doctors only to find out my blood test had been rejected for whatever reason and nobody bothered to let me or doctor know,so now got to wait another 3 wks before can have them done again,so many bad reviews about this place I'm wondering whether to find another doctor's or is it just a knock on affect from the nhs being virtually on its knees?

Review titled Great staff

I attended the surgery with my son. I felt that the nurse listened to my concerns about him and treated him as an individual, not just a child. She engaged with him as much as me and put him at ease. Great clinical staff as always

Review titled Very poor

My father has been unwell for a couple of weeks he was give antibiotics for a week which he finished last week, which has not worked, we phoned the doctors yesterday morning no appointments, again this morning as he still coughing bringing up phleme and whizzing not breathing very good, they said there is no appointments and to call 111 which we did they sent an ambulance who has done all his obs and confirmed he has a chest infection and needs antibiotics and steroids so the paramedics phoned the GP to which he was told there was no appointments and nothing they can do. The receptionist was very rude and not helpful at all on the phone to which I will am not happy about and will be writing a formal complaint to the surgery. I would not expect any member of the public to be treated like this and left to suffer let alone my father. It clearly shows his medical records on the system but was not interested.
