Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 March 2025
The phones are not answered and l can't get an appointment to see a specific doctor who l want to see. I order medication and there are usually some items missing, they came today and 3 items are missing and l cannot get through on the phone, no one answers. It is Friday and l have to wait till Monday to try and get through on the phone again or drive about 6 miles to the surgery to ask about my missing items.

Review titled Henmore Health - Ashbourne Surgery

Dear patient We are extremely sorry that you have been having some difficulties recently. Firstly, all patients are able to request a specific GP, and providing they have clinical sessions running, an appointment can be booked with them. The easiest way to request an appointment, is to go to our website (www.thesurgeryashbourne.co.uk) and click "Submit a request"and complete the questions. 30% of our patients are now using this system rather than calling us. The request goes straight to the Doctor on duty that day. If you do call, the Receptionist will complete the form with you on the phone. Regarding your medication issues, if you would like to drop us an email to ddicb.admincliftonroad@nhs.net, we can investigate the issue and hopefully resolve it so it doesn't happen again. Kind regards Samantha Fitchett Senior Operations Manager

Review titled Great team, great service, feel supported
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Shaun Thomas - Posted on 20 February 2025
Difficult to fully convey the feeling of relief we are currently experiencing. Having witnessed Brailsford's surgery go from bad to worse over the last couple of years, being totally disgruntled with the apparent lack of interest being shown for their patients, then on top of that being told your wife has Alzheimers it is easy to imagine my sense of frustration and to a certain extent, fear. Henmore Health took over the practice. It took a while for them to identify the key issues but boy have they made a massive difference. I am 65 and my wife is 76, with her condition our future is uncertain and we will need a lot of support. For the first time in years I actually feel I can count on my local medical practice should we need them. At our time of life that level of confidence is essential for both our physical and mental wellbeing. So, thank you to all the team at Henmore Health, please keep up the great work servicing our community.

Review titled Phone calls are never answered
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Garry Sands - Posted on 21 December 2023
I recently attended The Surgery in person to make an appointment to see a GP after my child was sent home from nursery with conjunctivitis. My wife called and I called to make the appointment over the phone and calls went unanswered all day. When I arrived to The Surgery to make the appointment in person, the entire waiting room was empty. Not a single patient. I made the appointment for the same afternoon and returned to another empty waiting room. My wife has tried to make appointments several times and no one answers any phone calls. It’s very frustrating to say the least. It’s easy to say you are under staffed but then put in a phone system or website that allows patients to book appointments. Or as a minimum, allow patients to leave messages and have someone call back. It seems to me that you are forcing patients to come to the clinic to make appointments face to face. I live twenty five minutes away and we moved to this surgery from another one due to deplorable service. On this particular occasion I drove from Derby to Ashbourne to Hatton and back to Ashbourne because I couldn’t get through on the phone. I imagine there are many patients who don’t have the luxury to drive to make an appointment in person. Please please read your reviews on Google. The negative reviews (and there are several) clearly demonstrate you have an issue with reception staff. You can’t blame Covid any more. If you are understaffed, hire more staff and train them properly and answer the phones, please.

Review titled Fantastic supportive staff

The whole team are great yet the new woman on reception this month has been amazing. Couldn’t believe how knowledgeable she was about all the services of staff , she even talked about getting my dad some help by a social prescriber for his loneliness and booked me with a physio after explaining in depth why I didn’t need a gp appointment. She discussed all the new roles in the surgery and we even had a chat about the nhs plan long term for all the gp surgeries. No idea what she’s doing manning reception. Promote that woman!!!
