  1. Review titled Repeat prescriptions never on time

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Liam knight - Posted on 04 December 2024

Every month same issue, it is virtually impossible to get a repeat prescription filled on time. Multiple times I have not had my medication due to their processing issues. Even if NHS App says prescription is issued, it has not been approved, so its has not been sent to the chemist. Very, very disappointing

  2. Review titled Worse practice

Had to chase GP for a week to get prescription which was prescribed by NHS hospital ,they don't care or you will have them on weekend or not. Promised that it will be done by regulation within 48 hours from Monday and still not in hand on Friday late afternoon.

Dear Patient Unfortunately, we are unable to prescribe anything unless we receive it in black and white from the hospital. If the hospital takes their time to send through the letter, it is unfair to hold us responsible for the delay. Unless we have the letter, no GP will prescribe any hospital initiated medication. May I suggest, in future, you collect your medication from the hospital when they provide you with a prescription. I am surprised you continue to be registered with the 'worst practice' when there are other practices in the area which may suit your needs more. 3. Review titled Best Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paul Devine - Posted on 05 August 2024

I’ve been unlucky to have developed some illnesses in past few years but am getting there and hopefully things will improve when I have my operation. In the meantime, the practice has put me onto the weight management programme and have lost nearly a stone so far. This is great and will help my overall health. By helping me take control of my weight I will hopefully improve my blood pressure, blood sugar and my arthritis. Thanks.

Dear Mr Devine I am so sorry to hear of your ill health and wish you better soon and that your operation is a success. You have done amazingly well to lose a stone and you need to give yourself a pat on the back for sticking to the plan. You deserve all the credit as you have put in the hard work. Thank you for your kind comments - it means much to all the staff. We wish you all the best and let us know if we can help in any way. Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. Unfortunately, as you have chosen to do so anonymously, I am unable to investigate your matter. If you would like me to look into it, please email me at manager.highstreetsurgery@nhs.net My staff work extremely hard to provide the best service we can to all our 8200 patients. At times, we fall short of patient expectations which is part of being human. The only time staff are permitted to have lunch at their desk is when the phones lines are switched off between 12 and 2 pm. It appears you have come in during the 2 hours lunch break. The phones are off at this time so they are able to have a well deserved break and have a laugh while eating. I am sorry you feel we provide a 'terrible' service; if you feel you can get a better service at another practice, you are welcome to register elsewhere. Dear Patient Thank you for your kind review of the practice. I will let the team know you found them helpful and friendly. Our phone lines can get very busy in the mornings, especially on a Monday. However, I am pleased that you got an appointment and our GP was helpful. 8. Review titled Poor Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 November 2024

From my experience, the practice manager demonstrates a complete lack of customer service and conveys an attitude that suggests, “If you’re not happy, then leave.” This is far from the professionalism one would expect in such a role. The other feedback here speaks volumes. Perhaps it’s time for you to consider a different job as my experience with you was far from pleasant—you were incredibly unhelpful. As for reaching the practice by phone, it seems winning the lottery would be easier than getting through. A 2 hour wait to get a call back seems extreme…..

Dear Patient Thank you for your comments and advice. As you have remained anonymous, I do not know what specific problems you have encountered or what circumstances lead to me being 'incredibly unhelpful'. My email is always available for patients to contact me directly. Perhaps you will consider joining our PPG as it may help you understand our roles and jobs and the limited resources we work within. It may give you an insight into our frustration at not being able to please 8600 patients. At the end of the day, your health is your priority and if we are unable to meet your needs, I would advise you to find a practice that can. Our doctors and staff work very hard, often staying at work hours after closing, just to try and complete our work. I accept that waiting 2 hours for a call back is very long if you have used the call back facility and can only apologise for that. If it was a Monday, I cant say I am surprised but the rest of the week is less busy. I can ask the telephone company to investigate if you are happy to provide your phone/mobile number. My email is manager.highstreetsurgery@nhs.net if you would like to reach out. Unfortunately, anonymous posts never reach a resolution as I don't have any details to offer explanations or apologies. My experience was waiting for a call back for over 2 hours to be told no appointments. I then had the unpleasure of dealing with the practice manager who needs to go on a customer service course. I changed surgery to a better one. They need better staff and a new manager.

  10. Review titled Repeat Prescription issues

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by K Rowley - Posted on 02 December 2023

I moved to this practically in August and every month I have issues obtaining repeat prescriptions. The practice does not approve repeat prescriptions more than 5 days before the last time it was issued. That has meant that every month I have had one day without medication. It is so stressful I’m thinking of moving again.
