Having chest problems and waiting a week was booked in for an E C G today (23/8 240) at 10.15 having arrived at the surgery no one knew nothing about it and told some mistake had been made and they were sorry and would get me booked in some time in the future. I am far from happy with this service.I am concerned I may have a heart problem.

Dr appointment, very good information and help. Thorough examination, listened to my health problems, forwarded results to individuals. Reception helpful too.

Review titled Not impressed
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Today I received a text message in response to the new Anima system, which in itself is not fit for purpose in my opinion. The text told me that my request had been reviewed and I had been referred to Higham Ferrers Pharmacy. Clearly the request had not been read properly or any of my notes because they would have seen that I had attended Corby Urgent Care and been prescribed antibiotics. My husband had called 111 because on Sunday I have not improved infact had got worse. In the early hours of Monday he called 111 who then said a Dr. would call back which he did, over the phone and from what was said he concluded I needed a reassessment of my condition, his recommendation was to see a Dr. not as the text I received suggested that I see a Pharmacist, who cannot do much except sell over the counter medication. I resolved my own situation by going back to Corby Urgent Care where I was indeed seen by a Dr. and not a Nurse Practioner he prescribed stronger antibiotics and pain killer, he then said if it continues to see my GP. I would if it were possible and things were actually assessed and read by them but on the basis of the text and phone call I have just had it seems like the Admin Staff do it all and the person I just spoke to didn't really have any interest. I am sorry to say that this surgery has taken very much a turn for the worse, but I dare say patients of other surgeries are likely to feel similar about some of their experiences.

Review titled Completely Incompetent.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 March 2024
When ordering my repeat prescription on 16th March I requested that I would need two months supply both together this time as I am going to be out of the country for a month & would otherwise run out of medication before returning home. I wrote this in the comments section of the Patient Access app, concluding that if this request would cause a problem then please contact me before March 22nd. Sure enough when I went to collect meds from the chemist yesterday (March 25th) only one lot had been authorised. I went to the surgery to see if I could get this resolved, but was told "There's nothing we can do" I asked if a doctor, or Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate could just sign their approval so that I could leave & collect it, but no.. this wasn't possible either. I was told that "they (Reception Staff) weren't allowed to knock on the doctors door to interrupt them, even between patients, and anyway" they only sign repeats at the end of the day, so come back later". I came back later (having cancelled one of my clients to do so, being self employed, therefore I've now lost an afternoons earnings) and was told "There aren't any doctors in the building today" so was I lied to one way or the other? So, now I'm traveling to Australia without enough medication to last until I return. Nobody at Higham Ferrers surgery appeared in the slightest bit concerned that I face a 23 hour long haul flight with the very real worry of Deep Vein Thrombosis. Would I recommend Higham Ferrers surgery? Absolutely 100% Not. Incompetent, unfriendly, unhelpful, uncaring, unprofessional, I stood waiting at the reception counter being ignored for ten minutes without even "I'll be with you in a minute", at the end of the day, they just couldn't wait to get rid of me.

Review titled Serious shake-up needed
by Elizabeth Stephenson - Posted on 09 May 2024
Had a scan on my foot 24th Feb. Results were with surgery 8th March. Was informed by surgery that Dr wanted to discuss and advised to book a phone consultation. Have been trying since then to do this. Phone at 8a.m. Number 21 in the call queue. By the time I’m answered, no appointments left. How many appointments are available each day and how many doctors are on site to deal with them? Have just given up altogether. Don’t blame the receptionists. They are at the sharp end re complaints and abuse. No doubt I’ll be number 101 in the call queue after this. Would not have their jobs. Service and care conspicuous by their absence.

Review titled Telephone number? This is a nasty joke.
Rated 1 star out of 5

That sympathetic response you (sometimes) get when you respond like this !!. The joke is that the telephone number you are given is the same one as the one you try for appointments. Sure, sure, you are answered eventually .... do try this if you like being told no one is available.

Review titled Left wanting
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Gerry Burnham - Posted on 18 December 2023
I used the new Anima to get an appointment. I got one the next day (Tuesday)at the Hub at Harbour Fields. Excellent service. Was told I need to have an urgent chest Xray. Was told if I hadn't heard from the Higham Ferrers surgery in 2 days, chase them up. After two days I went to the H F Surgery and they found the referral request on my file but nobody had acted on it. I went back the next day only to find that still nobody had taken any action. The receptionist said she would take it up to Admin and I would get a call from a doctor. True to her word, a doctor phoned me within the hour. She told me to provide a sputum sample and that she had contacted the xray department for them to contact me. I provided the sample straight away and waited for the call from Xray department. Now, this was a Friday and I heard nothing so everything(being urgent) will have to wait until Monday. We are now one week in. I contacted the Xray department and they said that they had tried to contact me on Friday but were unable so to do. I didn't have a missed call on my phone. The Xray department then told me that they had sent out a letter giving me an appointment in 19 days. I said that this was urgent to which the reply was that is the normal waiting time for urgent. I was then asked if I would like to have an earlier appointment for which I said yes please. I could go in that day. At what time I enquired. Anytime apart from lunch time. I went straight away and found the only people there were the receptionist and radiographer . This is an absolute joke. If they had tried to contact me, I would have known. It appears there are sections of the N H S are doing the least they can and don't have any thought for the patients

Review titled Absolutely Hopeless

I have been trying to get treatment for a badly swollen left leg since July 2023. I am still in severe pain, I keep telling these people this, but nobody seems to care. They should be closed and reopened with people who are actually prepared to listen to peoples' problems. Avoid them absolutely hopeless.
