Today 20/02/2023 at 8.30 , pressed call back and was called after about 30 minutes , so far so good , I explained about my wifes condition and that she really needed to talk to a Doctor . I was told that she would be called back , when I asked if that would be today I was told it could be up to 72 hours . Last week I visited the Centre and was told that things had improved and were now quicker . Previously my wife would have had a call back on the same day , how can that possibly be an improvement , I rate this as a very poor service and explains why A and E departments are flooded with patients , of course they are its not rocket science its because getting to talk to a Doctor is so difficult .

We are sorry to hear that you feel our new appointment system isn't working effectively. All submissions to AskMyGP are clinically triaged in the first instance. The request is then passed back to our reception team whom offer the patient the recommended pathway, this might be an appointment, advice, referral, prescription, signposting to another service etc. Often the turn around time is 24 - 48 hours for patient contact following a submission, however if urgent will be on the same day. Previously we found that most patients were having to call multiple days in a row to try and obtain an appointment, whereas this system prevents the need for that and safety netting is offered as clinically they have been reviewed. I would like to thank the medical centre and the doctors and staff involved in my care recently. What an absolute difference you have achieved! I could not be more appreciative of the way things have changed. From an early telephone call, immediate assistance and then a superb doctor who listened had a decent intelligent conversation with and did not undermine me in any shape or form. Wonderful! Have had a quite a few disappointing times with the surgery since Iv moved to area . But Monday just gone had a telephone appointment (week of waiting ) had my phone on me all day no one rang !! I rang reception in afternoon giving them chance as maybe busy but reception said someone did call once but I said I 100% did not have anyone call and said what happens now she said I can't do nothing other than log it and if the doctor feels like it she will call back !!! Tried going through ask my gp next day but still have no response !! It's beginning to go beyond a joke now.

Dear Francesca We are sorry to hear of your recent experience with the surgery, we are happy to discuss this matter further privately. Please contact the surgery directly should you wish to do this. Our clinical team try to contact patients via telephone up to three times per booking. Unfortunately they cannot always keep trying past the appointment time as they will have other patients booked into their clinic. The receptionist would have sent a message to update on the situation per your advise and if time was available the clinician would try to contact again. AskyMyGP is a good access tool for appointment enquires. Per the instructions when you submit your enquiry, it states that the surgery will be in contact within 72 hours, and for urgent matters not to be submitted via that channel. If the surgery are unable to clinically respond within 72 hours then we will be in contact. Thank you for your feedback, we hope that your future contacts are improved. Told by pharmacy Highbridge has a 1 week turnaround for prescription, and asked to allow 1 week for pharmacy. ordered repeat, doctor rejected it. Almost out of my medication, to no fault of my own, but the new request is with the doctor and can take a week. Told to phone 111 if I run out. It is blood pressure medication, surely you would try to make it easier for your patients. You can't take that long to do something then reject a request when it is done to allow for 2 weeks. I was without medication before because of the time it takes. Really, you can't even be bothered to authorise and send a script which you rejected. Now I have to wait and stress because you think you are beyond reproach! Shame on you

We are sorry to hear that you have experienced delays with your prescriptions. We do ask for prescriptions to be requested 7-10 days, to allow time for the surgery to authorise and send to your chosen pharmacy. We are having an increase in prescription demand at present which can cause delays, however our clinical team continue to authorise prescriptions daily. A member of staff went out of their way to help by seeing me at short notice following a call back with the reception team and then due to no blood tests appointments available, suggested I came in first thing on the Monday and they would do it themselves.
