    I was invited for a health check when I turned 60. Had fasting blood tests which showed I was on pre diabetes scale and high cholesterol. I was offered a great program - online and with regular phone calls and then retested bloods and bought my risks down. Completed the program and on ending, they told me to continue going for 6 monthly fasting blood tests to check I'm doing OK. I do this by phoning the surgery every 6 months for a test. It would be better practice if the practice followed up patients like me rather than leaving it to the few who will be proactive. (But thank you all, I love the NHS).

    I have been registered with Highfield Health for a few years but hadn't needed them for any reason until this week. I used the eConsult online service late on Sunday night to ask about a prolonged worsening cough. They called me back early the next morning, and that afternoon they invited me into the surgery, listened to my chest, gave me advice and wrote me a prescription. I know from the news that GP services are stretched so I was really impressed that Highfield Health could deal with me so quickly and efficiently.
