  1. Review titled Ridiculous policy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Warren Dempster - Posted on 27 December 2023

This practice is an absolute joke, I have just called to make an appointment only to be told "we don't do that anymore", I have to call at 8am on the day that I want to attend and hope they have space!! I work for a living and am not allowed to carry my phone with me, and don't have access to landlines, what am I supposed to do? I was happy to wait days or weeks as it's not an emergency but to be told that I cannot make an appointment for days or even weeks in the future is ridiculous, and thank you to the unhelpful staff member on the phone (when I eventually got through). Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

  2. Review titled Extenely poor

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Submitted 2 requests in 3 days for GP to contact me via Patches. I came off a 6 hour flight and developed breathing problems. No response. Today I called NHS 111 and visited Chase Farm urgent care. Sent to A and E immediately to investigate suspected pulmonary embolism, which is potentially fatal. Great job Highlands Practice! Who vets Patches requests? Clearly this system doesn’t work or isn’t monitored by doctors. In addition, letters from private doctors/hospitals don’t seem to get to any of the GPs.

  3. Review titled Super helpful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Caroline - Posted on 24 August 2023

There was an error with my prescription and I was going away on holiday so really needed it. The receptionist was very listened, got it sorted out and then telephoned me at 6.15 before she went home to let me know it was now correct and with the pharmacy. She knew I was stressed about it and wanted to put my mind at rest- very kind.

  4. Review titled Rude receptionists

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 June 2023

The receptionist at this clinic is shocking rude, unhelpful and unkind. How do they work here for years and no one fired them. Both of them are terrible. What right do they have to ask me a personal question when I requested to see a female doctor? How rude and unprofessional they are! They need a serious training of how to keep confidential and customer service. NHS is not free, I pay tax on it every month!!!

  5. Review titled Great Social Proscriber

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Deborah Pateman - Posted on 20 September 2023

I would like to thank the social prescribers for the help and support they have given. My husband was struck down with a terrible illness four years ago and it has been an horrendous time for us and our family. The social prescribers have been there in the community helping us all to cope with getting help and most of all to be there in time of need. This is a very important service for the well being of the community. Well done social prescribers for your wonderful commitment and dedication. Thank you so much.

  6. Review titled Great doctors but ........

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 April 2023

I have no issues with this practice, other than the endless problems that arise concerning repeat prescriptions. Time and time again both I and my partner wait, sometimes 7/8 days, for prescriptions to be 'signed off' by a doctor. They're meant to take a couple of days! Also, the medication printed on the prescription is not always the medication we have actually requested. Presumably the fault lies with whoever administers prescriptions. For the safety of patients and the reputation of the practice, this problem really needs to be tackled.

  7. Review titled Kindest Nurses

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Charlotte - Posted on 30 January 2023

I've been a member of this GP throughout my life and the care has been generally very good. Today stood out - I had my first smear test and the nurse made me feel at ease the second I walked through the door. She talked me through every step and made the experience as comfortable as possible for me. The nurses have also been lovely for my travel and university vaccines. Highly recommend
