    I have had two telephone conversations with the Doctors. He has been caring, considerate and explained everything that I needed to know ñ very carefully. I was very impressed by his attention to my case and to his manner. I was left feeling cared for and I understand the way forward.

    I spoke to a new receptionist yesterday and was not happy, she was so rude, she didnt want to listen to me and in the end huffed and put the phone down whilst I was trying to speak

    Dear Sam, Thank you for your feedback about one of our reception staff. I am Linda, the Practice Manager here at Hill Top Medical Centre and I am very sorry that your had such a poor experience recently. I am sure this must have been both a frustrating and upsetting experience. All our reception team receive training for this important role of the face of our surgery, and I am disappointed that you did not receive the service we would want for you and all our patients. I will discuss your comments at our next Practice Meeting, where we will discuss what happened, what should have happened and how we make sure that this does not happen in the future. If you could remember our staff members name it would be really helpful so that I could provide further training and coaching for them.     Whilst it has been difficult to get through on the phone I have managed to access the surgery via the app Attentive to my recent blood pressure and renal issues . Steps to improve are very noticeable with the changes implemented Good work !

    Dear Anonymous, Thank you so much for your feedback, and I am so glad that you were able to access the surgery via our app. Incidentally, we have now had a new phone system implemented which should make contacting the surgery a much easier process for all our patients. We are working very hard to make improvements to our surgery for the benefit of our patients.     The GP we saw today was amazing with my daughter, and he thoroughly checked her and gave me some great advice and explained well. He made me and my daughter feel safe, looked after and Happy. But I do feel as a whole from being with Hill top a number of years the lack of communication within the service does let the place down. Its impossible to get an appointment when you need one, some of the receptionists aren't very helpful and just rush you off the phone, they tell you to call back at 8am in the morning knowing you most likely won't get an appointment again. I understand GP's are busy, but surely something has to change in regards to getting appointments.

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback regarding our practice. I was delighted to hear that both you and your daughter had a great experience with one of our GP's, and that your daughter felt safe, looked after and happy. I am sorry that you feel it is impossible to get an appointment at the surgery. We do try our best to accommodate patients as much as we possibly can, and despite offering more appointments than ever before, demand still outweighs capacity on occasion. Our reception team is trained to offer other avenues of care to patients where this is appropriate, and also when we are full to capacity. I will reiterate this to all members of our reception team, to make sure that we are offering this service consistently, at our daily meeting (where we discuss items which we want all staff to be aware of as soon as possible) and again at our next practice. meeting. Our receptionists are trained in customer service, however I will suggest a re-visit to their training would be beneficial in view of your comments.     I had to contact the surgery last week regarding one of my residents and after a few minutes wait I spoke to a very helpful receptionist who was very polite and informative. During the next few days 2 of her colleagues phoned me back with updates and then I spoke to a GP who was very friendly and helpful. Excellent customer service!

    Would like to start with the receptionist who was a pleasure to deal with and managed to get me a face to face when I explained my problem. It did take nearly an hour to get through and nearly 50 calls but this is better than most GP surgeries and I did get an appointment for the same day. My appointment was an hour late but the doctor did explain that he'd had to rush out to 2 emergencies, these do happen and if I'd had to go to A&E I'd have been there hours so I didn't mind the wait. The doctor I saw was very professional and understanding and immediately put me at ease. All my concerns were listened to including ones that I hadn't gone there for. My appointment lasted a good 20 minutes I didn't feel rushed and left with all the information I needed and not a prescription for something that I probably didn't need. Within 10 minutes of leaving the surgery I'd received the messages I needed to book the necessary appointments I needed to book. Have read some of the reviews for the surgery and can understand people being frustrated but think the surgery is trying to turn things around and this won't happen overnight it will take time and patience something we all seem to be lacking these days.

    When and if you can get through to some of the receptionists and actually talk to a doctor … hard to get to see one, I k ow my asthma more than anyone, yet the doctor at the other end of the phone ( who clearly changed the subject twice) didn’t want to listen, seemed rushed, I was still talking when he wanted to end the call, and still can’t get my medication on repeat when been told it is on repeat. Can phone up to 386 redials before 8.35 and no appointments or call backs left, no prebooks for over 3 weeks… come on CQC open your eyes, a poor patient one day ain’t going to get the care/ treatment they need, what happened to “Duty of care” .. I’ve had 3 operations and no check up or even a call to see how I am, now I’m left chasing up aftercare. .. 1 of the ops a Gp recently advised me to have a think about having… just shows they don’t read notes!

    The doctor that we saw on our sons appointment was brilliant. He was patient, friendly and made sure we fully understood everything before we left. He was brilliant with our son he’s autistic and made our son feel comfortable. He spoke to him gently and interacted with him. Honestly so nice to see. Very professional and kind.
