    My wife recently had a routine blood test after being offered a check up of basic health issues. Within 2 days she received a text asking her to make an appointment to discuss results, sounds simple enough. She called and was told that there was no appointments available, the main question here is why ask someone to call and make an appointment when there is no appoinments available. So my wife has now been told to join a waiting list for an appointment regarding routine blood test resuts. I myself was diagnosed with early stages of prostate cancer after a routine blood test, so as you can imagine she is really concerned. I put on my shoes and walked round to the surgery and asked how they think my wife was feeling. I was then told that she would be called later that day. I returned home and she was called 15 minutes later, and happily nothing to worry about. Now why did the message not read "pls contact surgery for appointment, non urgent", that would have at least let her know that nothing serious was discovered. 3 Days Later I have had bad cramp in my leg over the weekend and made a request for some of my repeat medication and added at the bottom the issue is cramp and can I have some of the tablets I had a few years ago for cramp and that the others were not urgent. I simply wanted some relief as I was in the middle of a 5 days a week 4 week radiotherapy session for the cancer. The receptionist totally refused help today for this despite the possibility of having to cancel radiotherapy sessions due to the pain. I asked to speak to the practice manager and was told she was not in, just the same as I was told 3 days earlier when I went in. I was told if I was not happy to make a complaint by email and that I should call 111 despite it being the health centre's responsibility to look after their patients when open. I know that 111 is not there for this sort of issue, and with deep regret I called 111 and I spoke to them about the issue in full saying sorry for calling them. I was put on hold and then told I would be called by the practice Dr within 90 minutes, I was called 15 minutes later, asked to provide photos which I did and as if by magic a course of antibiotics was prescribed. I have to say that I feel the reception staff are on large bonus's to avoid booking appointments as there is never any available. When you call you are always met with the same message saying the practice is moving towards Econsult which is the preferred way ro request a clinicians appointment, Preferred By Who? certainly not by me and not by any other person I know that uses this health centre. My wife and I have been registered here for over 18 years and I have never known anything like this, during peak of covid I understood and accepted it. I find every time I go into the reception I do not recognise anyone. I really hope the front of house service improves soon as I do not wish to change Dr as the medical team have been totally amazing with me.

    Reception staff are so much more help full and understanding. i am 81 with a varetiey of health issues there always very polite and give good advice when needed.the Doctors are very helpful. thank you all.

    Today I called to ask for an appointment or call from gp . I was so happy to receive such a positive response from the receptionist and was so grateful to her for helping me to send on photos to prove my concerns. I feel she gave me time and understanding which was very much appreciated.

  5. Review titled Great Practice

    I am sadly about to leave this practice as I have moved out of the area. I want to say how wonderful the GP’s and Receptionists have been over many years. In recent weeks I’ve had an excellent service from them after fracturing my foot. The GP called me almost immediately after asking for a phone consult. The Receptionists have been extremely helpful each time I’ve called. Thank you Hillingdon Health Centre.

    We have been with the Hillingdon Health Centre since 2016, they are a fantastic practice. All the GPs and nurses who I have encountered at the surgery have been knowledgable, compassionate and helpful in dealing with our medical needs. We are a family of two adults and two young children so there have been a wide spectrum of things they've had to encounter with us. They’ve dealt with each of us in a professional manner. They are extremely patient centric and same day appointments can be given depending on the medical need. There can be a wait of up to two weeks for routine appointments but I don't think that's unusual or hinders my care in any way.
