  2. Review titled Very poor

Rated 1 star out of 5

Your Review: I rang yesterday morn(dec 12th) for an app or prescription with a suspected chest infection to be told to go to chemist and buy something, ended up later in the afternoon going through to a Walk-in centre, driving in the freezing fog to be told by the doctor there I had a serious chest infection and was given antibiotics and bottle of codeine linctus I can’t remember the last time I visited the doctors, I never go unless I know something isn’t right, I can’t believe what is going on with doctors surgery nowadays, you can’t get to see a doctor only by phone to be asked what the problem is then diagnosed over the phone, how on earth can that be right, what has happened to patient wellbeing and care, just so sad it has come to this when a few years ago we could see our doctor and have faith that he would listen and prescribe what was needed to put us right.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback on your recent experience although we are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our service on this occasion. We are also sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with a chest infection and prescribed antibiotics but hope that are now feeling much better. Our Patient Services Team member sought advice from a GP based on the symptoms you described at the time. He advised that over the counter medication from a Pharmacy should be the first course of action but to return to us if your symptoms persisted. We have listened to the call back and the advice given was correct based on the symptoms you described at the time. If you would like to discuss any aspect of this further please telephone us or email hnyicb-ery.feedback.holdernesshealth@nhs.net and we would be happy to discuss this with you further.
