  1. Review titled Improve Contact and Phone Manners

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 December 2024

I was referred to call for a report for my insurance to their admin team and she was not responding and cut the call a lot of times without giving me the option to ask my questions. I think they should improve their phone manners and treatment of their patients.

Good afternoon Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us. All feedback is genuinely helpful. For reasons of confidentiality, I cannot go into precise detail here, but I am aware that a formal complaint has already been lodged about this incident. I confirm that this will be investigated in accordance with our complaints procedure, and you will receive a personal and detailed response. What I will say is that I have listened back to all of the numerous telephone conversations you have had with the practice over the last 2 days. The vast majority of them were handled professionally and courteously. There was, however, one call this afternoon where one of my colleagues did become irate near the end of the call. That should not have happened, and I apologise for it. I have already been through the call with her, and she understands what went wrong. As you will understand, my staff have literally thousands of interactions with patients every week. I am pleased to say that the vast majority of those are handled very well. Nevertheless, everyone - including staff at GP surgeries - is human, and therefore it is inevitable that there will be 1 or 2 interactions that do not go as smoothly as would hope. When that happens, we try to learn from them, and improve. That is exactly what we will do here. Best regards Peter Maynard Practice Manager Horfield Health Centre

  3. Review titled Terrible practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

Practice removed me from their patients list without warning. I last used the practice in February 2022, when the practice reviewed the patients list in September 2022 I was removed without warning. In the meantime I had a hospital check up through private medical care provided by my employer. Results from this came back stating I needed further medical tests due to some worrying results. It was then I found out Horfield had removed me from the list without informing me they were doing so. I am now in the position where I have no Drs and I need urgent care.

Dear patient Thank you for notifying us of this issue. We would like to try and help. Quite often patients are deducted from our list by an organisation called PCSE (which is part of the NHS), and we have no involvement in the process. Without knowing more details about you, I cannot say if that is what has happened in this case. If you can contact me on horfield.health@nhs.net, and let me know your full name and date of birth, I can find out what has happened and let you know. More importantly, we can try to provide the urgent care you need. Thank you Peter Maynard Practice Manager
