Had an appointment cancelled due to staff sickness and then had to wait two months. Also received a copy of my patient summary. Found a surgery recorded that I have never had. Patient records are only accurate the info recorded. Concerned about accuracy of

Hi Mark As discussed the appointment although at the surgery was not with one of the practice staff, so regarding the cancellations I have passed your information onto that team. I have looked into the surgery recorded on your file and as discussed it was suggested but did not take place. This was human error on our part for which I apologise. We have removed the procedure from your record and apologies for any distress this may have caused. Many Thanks Sophie Parling

  3. Review titled Great Pharmacy service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 July 2024

Last December I had a phone call from a very friendly helpful member of staff from the Pharmacy team ,letting me know my latest results for my cholesterol, which was once again high. The member of staff was very helpful and full of advice and a very good listener,we came to the conclusion that along with family health history and my cholesterol results I would probably be better off on statins,so next steps was another blood test in six months instead of the usual yearly one and decide if statins was what i needed, I've now had that blood test but no call phone call this time just a text from my doctor to say your blood test results show you would benefit from lowering your cholesterol (I know this) we suggest a repeat test in one year. While at the surgery yesterday about something different, with a doctor (not mine)I asked about my cholesterol figures, little bit better than last time but still not good,we talked about the results and decided it was time to try the statins, they were prescribed for me straight away i left it till today to make sure they were ready, but when I to got to Boots they didn't have any, hopefully Monday. Once again thankyou to the member of staff in the Pharmacy and the doctor who sorted me yesterday.

  4. Review titled Too many errors and disappointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Richard Fletcher - Posted on 23 October 2023

Many small health problems prompted my request for a blood test. I was initially informed that I could book one over the phone, but then told that phone booking wasn't possible and I had to see a GP. I booked an appointment, the GP requested four tests, and I then had to book another appointment. On 11th October four lots of blood were drawn and sent for testing. More than a month after my initial enquiry I am informed that only one test was carried out, and no explanation given as to why the other three tests, including cancer screening, were deemed so unimportant that the GP's requests were ignored. My experiences over the last 25yrs at Howdale have been so poor, that I rarely go and just try to self medicate using Google.

  5. Review titled Great Registrar

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Antonia Kavanagh-Greene - Posted on 10 June 2023

I had an appointment with the new Registrar this week. I was very impressed with how thorough this person was with going through all the different options that could be the source of my problem. I am very grateful for all the care and attention I received and the time spent trying to resolve my problem.

  6. Review titled Really disappointed.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Never able to get a face to face appointment with a GP. Still waiting for blood results that were taken end of April and the scheduled call is mid June for the results. My last 2 appointments with a GP where cancelled and booked in with a nurse practitioner who told me I needed to see a GP and a paramedic who was there to take the pressure off the doctors who told me I needed bloods and had to wait 5 weeks for an appointment. I have not had a proper medication review in 18 months. I spent the first 30min calling constantly on redial trying to get through to be told I had to re try in the afternoon as no Dr is available now. I work it's not possible to take 1 hour out of you shift to redial over 100 times to still not get through. When you call not in the Dr times the ofter very rude and abrupt reception ask you your medical history resons you want an appointment, refuse to make an appointment, and say the next avaliable one was 9 weeks for a routine appointment - but you need to explain what's wrong and its not routine. So then get told to call in the Dr slots that are twice a day is the best way to get seen and that everyone gets through. It's a total vicious circle. It's totally frustrating, don't feel that the care is there. Poor service that needs looking at.

  7. Review titled Very happy with the doctors and the office staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by John Lane - Posted on 18 May 2023

My query is not related to a particular one thing. I am a wheelchair user and it’s this that I think the Surgery should review. One disabled parking bay is not enough and what makes this worse is having a gravel surface in the car park. When I attend the surgery I rarely can access the disabled bay and so am forced to try and get across the car park on foot, using a wheelchair across gravel is very difficult even if you have someone to help you. Please could we have more disabled bays and a better surface, acceptable to wheelchair users and even non wheelchair users who have difficulty walking.

Joined the practice in march 2022, after some issues and a struggle I had to change my gp at the surgery, have since had other issues and whilst being poorly have been left without the required medication as between the doctors and pharmacy there has been no communication which has resulted in a prescription being cancelled. Unable to obtain an answer sometimes on the phone and trying to get an appointment is absolutely impossible, called on the 12th december to be told bo appointments until after xmas new year

  9. Review titled Unable to get a face to face appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by pussycat - Posted on 20 May 2023

Have not seen my GP for 18 months or more, to get a telephone appointment takes up to 3 weeks, I have multiple myeloma and should have regular checks but these don't happen, after blood tests are taken I phone to get results and then maybe told I need to talk to my GP, who may not be available as I have said before for upto 3 weeks, the whole situation is totally unsatisfactory. I am disabled which is another complication. Have rheumatic and back issues, recently asked for a GP home visit, he didn't come but sent a lady who wasn't even a GP. Would like to change surgeries to one which is more accessible and hopefully helpful.
