Review titled Prescriptions
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 September 2024
My child was diagnosed with cmpa. To cut a long story short one milk was prescribed which didn't suit him so another one was prescribed. He was prescribed 800g two tins of 400g on the 23rd Sept, per guidelines for babies under 6 months this should last between 3.5 days. When I requested some on the 30th Sept I was told by the in house pharmacy that I was over feeding my child despite me following the packaging, the pharmacist soon realised there mistake and read my child's age wrong but still continued to tell me that 800g should last 25 days. After a lot of back and forth calls a script was finally done at 5.50pm even though I first requested this at 8.30 this morning, and was emailed to say this was being dealt with.(which clearly wasn't)Script was sent to the wrong pharmacy as although it was my normal nominated pharmacy, I knew they were unable to order due to suppliers issues so I asked for it to be sent to a different pharmacy, but it wasn't it was sent to the wrong one. I then had to ring my allocated pharmacy to put the script back onto the spine so I could arrange for another pharmacy to get it ordered. I finally got someone to order the milk for me but due to it being dealt with so late in the day, the delivery wont be in until 5pm tomorrow which means I will have run out of milk by then. The stress this has caused me is unnecessary and now I am going to have to give my child milk what he is allergic too, to actually feed him until I get the script as I can't let him go hungry. Now I know prescriptions take up to three working days but due to it being a new prescription and it being on a trial and error basis I thought I would leave it for a few days to see if my child had an adverse reaction like he did to the previous milk prescribed. I am utterly appalled that I had to go through all of this to get my prescription. I'm not looking forward to requesting it again when my child needs it.

been at Hucclecote surgery since an infant, have had severe mental health issues, reached out to a doctor who was fearful of my situation ,judgemental and a bit hostile, not what i needed ,i did mention to management but was fobbed off with do you need a mental health specialist, had i been able to be given a safe space to speak i could have told them that my situation requires a different approach than talking therapy ,i was also supposed to be seeing diet and wellness with a staff member that i liked and had been very kind to me but not even that now, have had to leave as it is not a place i want to go to again very hurt and disappointed

Review titled Terrible service
Rated 2 stars out of 5

It’s seems to be impossible to get an appointment with a doctor face to face to discuss my post operative concerns and issues that are still ongoing. Reception want to know details of intimate details before that consider whether it is necessary to see a Dr. The form here asks if I would recommend this surgery, but the reality is that anyone cannot just go to another doctors surgery due to location.

We are sorry to read your perceived comments and feedback. We welcome feedback as it does help with staff training and for reviews of systems to be undertaken. The reason Receptionists asks questions is to ensure patients are signposted to the correct healthcare professional in a timely manner for example if you needed to speak about medication changes after an operation, then you would be signposted to our pharmacist team for a telephone appointment. Primary Care has employed allied healthcare professionals to help with supply and demand as a GP is not always needed. By signposting patients to the correct professional helps free up GPs. Unfortunately, as this is anonymous, we are unable to help further via this service. If you wish to discuss, please contact the surgery 01452 617295 and ask to speak to Emma (Practice Manager).

Review titled Timekeeping only applicable for patients not GPs
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I received a text message on 12th July from the surgery that I have a telephone appointment with the GP on the 19th July at 19.15. I further received a reminder text on 18th July. On the 19th July, Wednesday, I had prepared myself for the phone call readjusting my tutoring session to finish before 7pm, so that I will be available for the call at 7.15pm. I do tutoring sessions for a living. At 6.34 pm, I received a call from a Private number, while I was teaching with a student. I cannot take personal phone calls while working, which would be unprofessional. There was a voicemail left that it is the doctor calling to check how I am doing and will call me back in 5 to 10 minutes. The lady doctor called me at 6.41pm. I couldn't take the call as I was still working. She left a voicemail that I should make another appointment. I very well know how hard GPs work & that their schedules are full. But that does not mean that patients don't have a life and jobs to do. We are equally leading hectic lives like any GP juggling work, family & personal life. It would be nice if GPs can think of themselves as patients when they are unable to take calls from doctors who don't follow timings. Many thanks

We are sorry to read your feedback and apologise for any upset or frustration caused (this was never our intention). Some days the GP rota does go out of sync for many reasons and we apologise that on this occasion this happened. Dr Zafar will be calling you today (Monday 24th July). Many thanks.

Review titled Very helpful and considerate

Had a problem getting medication delivered and as a result ran out. Began to experience withdrawal symptoms. The receptionist that handled my call, was kind and helpful when I was feeling quite unwell. Explained clearly what she was going to do and gave me a time scale. She rang me back within that time scale advising me that an emergency prescription had been issued. I am very grateful and feeling much better. Thank you

Review titled I do not trust this practice as an elderly patient
Rated 1 star out of 5
by J Faulkner - Posted on 22 May 2023
Last time I contacted this practice, around a year ago, with a swollen & very painful lower jaw I was told by the Receptionist/Phone answerer that I needed to check a Dentist. I was not registered with any Dentist at the time & I could not find a NHS Dentist (as opposed to a private Dentist, which I cannot afford) to do anything for me. I had to remove two teeth myself to deal with it. The Receptionist/whatever seems to be able to decide such things on a simple phone call... I consider this to be an outrage. I was contacted later by phone by the 'Practice Manager' who insisted on talking over me on the call. Was not in listening mode... Today I am suffering from Gout & cannot even walk after a week of pain.. I call the Practice number for an appointment. I'm told that a Doctor will call me later today, only after I insist it is an 'Emergency'. You can imagine how much confidence I have in that, after my previous experiences. I'm 76 in poor health & this is how it works for me. I have no appointment currently @ 17:00 hrs & have to wait. Or call 999/111. That's how the NHS works for me right now.

Unfortunately as a GP Surgery we are not qualified or experienced when it comes to dental problems and hence why you were signposted to a dentist. One of our GP Partners has written an A-Z of medical problems which the reception team always look at when speaking with patients to that the patient can be signposted to the correct healthcare professional at the right time. All of the reception team have been trained in patient navigation/signposting. We offer same day or pre-bookable appointments depending on the nature of the medical complaint. Thank you for your feedback.
