Review titled Waste of time
by Shirley Bower - Posted on 16 August 2024
Have been trying to get an appointment for medication for 4 weeks now. Everytime I call I stay in the queue patiently only to be told there are no appointments. Nearly cried today as my back pain is so bad and so the receptionist hung up on me for being rude(I'm not rude just desperate) after saying once again, ring at 10. I can't go on in this pain.

Review titled Why is it so impossible to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 April 2024
Not only is it really difficult to get an appointment but they seem to go out of their way to put as many obstacles in your way to make one. Where is the commitment to patient care? This is based on trying to get an appointment on 25/04/2024

Review titled Inadequate
Rated 1 star out of 5

No communication, no interest and shocking service from both doctors and reception staff. Reception staff lack any empathy whatsoever, very rude and abrupt, I have witnessed this on many occasions with other patients also. There is an Irish doctor who has no time to listen to the patient and the advise they give is shocking. The doctors on a whole do not read their notes and prepare for the patient and therefore ask questions that have previously been answered. Due to this it results in more appointments because the communication is so bad. The nanagememt of the appointment system and dealing with an appointment is shocking

Almost impossible to get through via phone. When you can, no appointments left. I rang today and the call went straight through to ‘I-heart’ ??

Review titled Terrible Support for Mental Health Related Problems
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 January 2024
I've currently been receiving mental health support from this doctor's surgery over the last 7 months. So far, I have had 4/5 missed medication reviews and so have been left without antidepressants and had to chase up the surgery for further appointments on each of those occasions. Recently, I was given the incorrect dose by the reception team which I paid for despite only lasting me over a week. The last medication I received was unclear from the information given in a phone appointment and I was not told about starting a new set of medication... I can't believe that I have to go so far out of my way to chase up my own appointments and medication when vulnerable and suffering from mental health issues - it's a very dangerous thing. One good point is that when I do end up with an appointment, they are good at trying to speed up the therapy process by sending further letters. Everything else regarding physical health is fine, just not for mental health issues.

Review titled Called 139 times!!
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Spencer - Posted on 05 September 2023
Calling on behalf of my 86 year old father-in-law, took 20 minutes of continuous redialling to be answered after 91 attempts only to be cut off after choosing 1 of 4 options. Called continuously again for another 15 minutes (After a total of 139 calls) finally got through, appalling service, I know that other GP practices are managed well and call systems are excellent, why is this one failing so badly? Usually the person trying to get through is unwell and would not have the stamina to continue to call, it is exceptionally worrying that vulnerable and frail people are being failed by this service. I appreciate that there are limited resources but this essential service should not be the one to suffer - no wonder the A&E departments are constantly overflowing!

Review titled Downhill
Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been under this surgery for 20 years and it’s sad to see how much it has gone down hill since then. Seen a gap there today who looked like he had slept in his clothes he looked a disgrace. He then proceeded to ask me after asking my symptoms what I thought was wrong. I said if I knew that I would have no need to come here. Eventually I stood up and left it’s so disheartening when you wait so long for an appointment and get this type of service. I have now decided to change surgeries as this one is certainly not fit for purpose any longer.

Review titled No Logic
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2023
After trying to get an appointment today because my illness has lasted more than a week and I need a note for work was told there are no appointments and can’t get an emergency one for a note. The doctor won’t give a note without seeing the patient which is fair enough but if it takes 3 weeks to get an appointment will I then be able to get a note back dated. Where is the logic here , as when I get to see a doctor I will be well and he will only be seeing a well person anyway. It is very stressful to rely on this system as I won’t get paid without a note and many people will be in the same position. I haven’t needed to get a note for at least 7 years and hopefully won’t have to ever again with the experience I’ve had this time.

Tried to make an appointment to see a Dr after visiting the nurse. What a terrible system which seems to adopted a practice of refering a non emergency to ring iheart. I now understand why A&E is bursting at the seems!!

Review titled Great staff but too many patients
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by M.Lowe - Posted on 07 March 2023
When you're finally able to get through to them on the telephone the reception staff are very helpful (although the new woman with the accent not so much) and 95% of the doctors and nursing staff are always great (one GP really let's the side down). The fundamental problem with this surgery is the number of patients they have on the books! The facilities are woefully inadequate for the amount of people from the car parking, actual size of the buildings to the number of overall staff. Such a shame when the staff are so helpful and try their best given the circumstances. I realise this is improbable but the only solution is to either reduce the number of patients or find a larger or additional premises (you shouldn't have closed Doncaster Road!).
