Review titled Fantastic practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 September 2023
I cannot praise hughenden valley practice enough. After recently joining the practice The service I have received has been excellent and a breath of fresh air after the service I had received from my previous gps of 45 years. The gpsI have seen have been kind and considerate and listen. The surgery has supported me via phone, face to face, and text and have given me options and and excellent advise.

Review titled Overwhelmed - shocking service levels
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Johnny Nichols - Posted on 17 July 2023
Pharmacy taking weeks to prepare prescriptions. No communication, no ability to get hold of anyone. Still taking new patients I see from the website, that must be to replace those leaving for better run practices.

Review titled Dreadful practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

My mother is well in her 80s and suffering a condition leaving her house bound the practice ring her to say a doctor will call in the afternoon and then don’t contact her causing a lot of stress and more anxiety, she is desperate to discuss her medication but you guys are treating her as a nuisance. Please do not suggest she use the digital service as I’m afraid the world has moved on but she sadly hasn’t like a lot of very elderly people . Please contact me via the email I’ve corresponded by and I’ll give you her details so perhaps she can receive the help she is entitled to .

I am still in a call queue. I’ve been waiting for 80 minutes - yes that’s eighty minutes - to speak to someone about my mother who has dementia

I am sorry you have had such a long wait. Calls have increased by 50% over the last 6 months. We are recruiting more staff, but the training process takes time.

I needed some antibiotics for an eye infection and this morning called the practice, received a call back and was seen by a nurse and on my way with a prescription all by 10am! Excellent care and service, thank you!

Review titled Difficult to contact and no continuity
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 May 2023
Contacting the clinic is a nightmare. When you phone them, you stay on hold forever, but there is no other way. You can book an appointment online, althought there aren't many slots (which I can understand, seeing the NHS situation generally), but you can't book phone consultations. For those, you have to call them and they will give you a slot. It would save time to both them and us to be able to do it. They don't give their email address to patients, so if you just need to send exams results or other documents, you need to go there in person - which is absurd in 2023. I can understand they need an email address just for oother clinitians (which is what I got told), but they could easily have a second one for patients. Another thing that would reduce the number of the phone calls and save time to everybody. Once you get an appointment, the doctors are generally good, but often they don't read your file beforehand, so there is no continuity and you need to explain everything from the beginning. They also don't get back to you: I left some documents at the reception as instructed and waited for a phone call to discuss them, but that didn't happen. I had to chase them up, which again it's a difficult as there are no appointment slots that are soon and calling them is a knightmare. Once I was able to talk to a doctor, I had to explain the whole situations once again. Again, the fact that there is not continuity is one of the worst aspects. They are on PatientAccess and AskFirst, but with the former they don't allow you to send messages, and with the latter, they don't reply to them. It seems like there is a lot of admin work that needs to be done and the doctors need to read the patient files and not forget about them as soon as they walk ou of the door.
