I have always had good service from the receptionist to the GP and although the new WhatsApp booking seems awkward at first you do get fast and positive response.

Never had a problem contacting practice, sure lines are busy sometimes but they’re busy and with various ways to get advice appointments etc. happy with service. Receptionists are always happy to help too

I’m a teacher. Being able to use WhatsApp means I’m able to access medical support whilst teaching. As my employer does not approve of gp appointments during teaching day which is 8am-4pm but till 5pm on Monday. I’ve been able to access the medical support/ medication needed to alleviate symptoms much quicker with WhatsApp rather than waiting for a gp face to face apt. It’s been invaluable and efficient support and service for me.

Dear Lucy, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I know many teachers so I am aware of how busy you are - like us, overworked and underappreciated! You are a great example of the type of patient we created ChatDoc for - always working during our opening hours etc. Its very easy to have a chat throughout the day with our team, on breaks etc, and get what you need without needing to jump on the phone or attend appointments. Today I contacted the surgery on behalf of my mother who has an ongoing health problem. She needs to be seen swiftly to ensure she has the right medication and also to allay her fears. I was promptly given an appointment for the next day at a time of my convenience.

By using digital technology and streamlining how we operate to be more efficient, we free up GP time for those patients - such as your mother - who need to be seen promptly. Reception staff are extremely helpful and understanding getting gp appointments is very difficult especially if you work and can not use your phone during work hours. The care you receive is dependant on the gp you get as some are very helpful and others not as much. The WhatsApp service has been good except for one experience

It makes me happy to receive a quicker response from the medical center where I registered before. Although some of my problems were solved more quickly in my previous medical center, I feel better here.

Having not realised there were more parts to the WhatsApp messages I previously failed. But a kind lady from the WhatsApp team showed me what to do. Once I got a signal outside, I was able to book an appointment after answering a few of the statements I booked an appointment with a Dr on the Monday evening. I used WhatsApp on Friday evening. So if it continues to be a good service, then this will save me trying to be on a phone for ages. As I don't work in an office, it's very difficult to be on hold when you have to be in a classroom.
