    I started calling the reception at 8 o’clock on the 10th of February 2025. The response was the line was busy until 8:10 am at which point I was able to log onto the queue for the reception. I was fourth in the queue. I waited 45 minutes in the queue at which point I decided to go to the Surgery, to see if I could get a response there. I was still in the queue on my phone on the journey and arrived at the Surgery 56 minutes into the Call in the queue on the phone at one hour was still in the Surgery queue and the phone disconnected , at the one hour Mark. I filled in a paper request for a fit note and waited in the queue to hand it to the receptionist. I gave it to the receptionist when I got To the front of the queue after 5 minutes. I made three requests to the receptionist 1. Where do I Post this request to. The receptionist took it off me and put it somewhere. 2. I asked her if there was a problem with the E Consult on their app There was no reply, just a blank stare 3. I asked for full Access to my notes online And access to full E Consult on the app. I was given a piece of paper to fill-in And Old, I would require two forms of ID. At no point was I offered a link for an e-consult, so I could request my fit note electronically. I do not understand why my phone call was not taken when, at the point of the telephone call cutting off I was number two in the queue, after waiting for a full hour, and trying to get a communication for a full one hour and 10 minutes. I know it was Monday morning and I know the Surgery is busy but this seems unacceptable due to the fact I l Cannot: Access to Surgery by E consult Access the Surgery by telephone after one hour, to be then put in a queue again Upon dialling. Request full access to my records by email or other such electronic means, but have to use a piece of paper and then travel to and from the Surgery for my request to be acted on. Even though these issues have been brought up before by me at reception and nothing has been remedied, I have had to block somebody else’s appointment by booking an appointment just so I can book a fit note renewal. If I had not travelled to the Surgery, found a piece of paper to ask for a fit note renewal, then this appointment would still be blocked for somebody else to use who probably needs it more than I do at the moment. I do worry that nobody seems to be concerned with the state of the IT issues. I have been coming up against even though I have mentioned it to several receptionists who do not seem to know how to go forward with a resolution. Let’s hope this review will push somebody to act upon the issues I have come up against, including waiting times on the telephone, IT issues for e consults, And unenthusiastic responses from reception. I do have to say that the doctors at the surgery have been very professional and helpful in their surgeries when I have been attending. Front of face however is very wanting.

    My 88 year old asthmatic disabled housebound Mum has a chest infection and we cannot get the Doctor to call back to book a home visit. I waited 35 mins on the phone this morning, I was 2 in the queue and never got to 1. I visited the surgery to request a Doctor and explained that their phone system is not working. I was told it is and they are busy, but because it was urgent, they would get a Doctor to phone ASAP. It is now 5 hours later, my Mum is getting worse and we have not heard anything! If we went called an ambulance we would be waiting all night to be seen! Why are our Doctor’s so overloaded? Why is this Practice still accepting new patients??? My Mum could die without antibiotics yet nobody cares? Help! I just called back, now 10th in line!!!

    I find it hard to understand the negative reviews on this practice. The staff are lovely and I have never had any issues getting an appointment when I needed it. I've recently witnessed the appalling way patients speak to the receptionists and can't believe what they have to put up with. You'd think after covid that we could be kinder and appreciate the nhs but apparently that has gone completely out the window. I saw a patient shouting in reception this week and being extremely rude to a lady who was just trying to help him. She handled it well but was clearly upset by the experience. Thank you to everyone at Ireland Wood surgery for working so hard. Some patients actually appreciate everything you do

    I was on hold for 45 minutes with an urgent medical need. I have emphysema and asthma, copd. One got a chest infection and need antibiotics urgently. I was told sorry no appointments until 5 of November. No Telephone appts but try ringing again at 8am tomorrow! Wow!! She made me so anxious and distressed I felt even more unwell. Dismissed even when I told her the urgent nature of my need to talk to gp. Why take all my details of there's no appointment for weeks. Why tell me to try again in the morning? I am shocked at this! How uncaring and unprofessional when reception staff are usually so helpful.

    Dear Joanne I am sorry to hear about your negative experience at the practice. If you would like to get in touch I can ask the reception manager to investigate what happened. Our practice runs an urgent triage each day, during which a patient with a medical issue which is urgent can speak to a GP. We also have an online consultations function which patients can use to contact the practice electronically rather than over the phone.   5. Review titled awesome service at the eye clinic

    I was seen by the GP eye specialist at the eye clinic at Ireland wood in Leeds. The whole process from receipt of the appointment, to the actual consultation itself was seamless and very professional. Even waiting in the waiting area felt was a calm experience. The GP was very knowledgeable, caring and thorough. The receptionist was very pleasant and the overall experience was 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.

    I was unable to make an appointment that suited me. The receptionist was not very helpful. Then I had to have minor surgery on my leg which meant I could not attend. I told her this but ignored my email and sent another appointment on the same day as my operation then threatened to discharge me for not obeying her orders. I also explained that I needed an afternoon appointment which she ignored. Your doctors may be first class but I will never know because I am not prepared to deal with this level of disrespect

    I had an appointment on Saturday 24/08/204 with the Dr. He was a lovely man. Felt very at ease when discussing my issue. Never felt rushed and he listened to all my concerns.

    I have had access to all my medical records, test results, repeat medications and appointments for several years. Since you 'updated' your IT system I can no longer access any of my records. I have been personally to the reception desk to ask for pass codes for the new system and I was advised that all patients medical records had been deleted in error and therefore I would have to fill in a new application form for access which I did on the 5th August together with photo ID. It was OK'd by a lady at that time. I was advised I would be sent the new codes within 10 days. I haven't heard a thing since then. Could somebody please check and see what has happened here.     I am sorry that you have struggled to get access to your online account since our change in IT systems. I can see that this has since been resolved and you have full access. Unfortunately, despite months of preparation the practice was not prepared for the issues with online access as a result of our change in system. The practice team are not IT experts, and have worked extremely hard to resolve all of these issues whilst also operating on a daily basis. I am very sorry for the frustration caused, but please be assured that we did everything we could prior to the change in order to prepare for the transition. Unfortunately we could not have foreseen the problems we had with online access, and all advice we gave to patients was based on the information provided to us by the IT companies associated with the system change. We as a practice did our best and have worked through thousands of requests/problems with access and some of these have taken longer than others.     This surgery used to be wonderful when we first joined, timely appointments, friendly staff. Now wait times just to speak to reception are over 1hr regardless of what time you call. Then when you finally get through one member of the reception team is beyond rude. Currently writing this from the waiting 3oom where my daughter has been waiting over 1hr for her appointment with no communication as to why there is a delay

    Asked to book appointment with doctors from hospital admission. 2 week wait for appointment. Asked by doctor reason visit. Explained situation,while she appeared to be typing up other patients notes. No eye contact until she had finished her work, at which point she looked directly at me with a smile and said " what exactly do you want me to do for you, forget all that you have told me has being going on ,we have 5 minutes ". I almost broke into tears on top of feeling extremely unwell. She then decided I needed a test, which i have no idea what for and said she would get a referral. I have not attended the doctors in years, I attended because I feel desperately unwell and was made to feel I had wasted their time.
