Being a care coordinator I would expect simple communication skills, considering I have just been discharged from hospital I contacted my doctor for support therefore I asked to speak to my doctor. I was told to submit a request via their online portal. A random doctor, without understanding my case or calling me just closes down my request to speak to my own doctor, whilst given incorrect information. I then called in again to discuss this, I then spoke to the same person again who went to check with the doctor. I mentioned that I wanted to speak with my own doctor and not a random duty doctor. He then said this has to be requested via email. Patients don’t know whether they are coming or going, asked to speak to another receptionist as he clearly didn’t understand or want to take the time to resolve this for me. He stated no, I then asked to speak with the practise manager, again said no then terminated the call. The practise should be ashamed…

I had an appointment today at 4pm (14/10/2024). The young lady that saw me was polite and very professional. She made me feel totally at ease and was an absolute Angel. 10/10 Fantastic. The Receptionists are always lovely there too. Thank you. x

I contacted this surgery today for a same day triage appointment for my auntie, first of all I appreciate they couldn’t discuss her medical records as I don’t have consent but the rudeness of your reception staff are unreal, clearly the receptionist got out of bed the wrong side for the way she spoke to me rude abrupt and extremely unhelpful. Since when was going to a n e an option and clogging it up up there when your not sick enough to be there??? We’re supposed to be lessening the pressure on our hospitals not adding to it , there was no help offered at all other than submit a request online or go to a n e thank god I’m not at this practice and won’t have to encounter this person who lacks people skills

Over the last year I have had to access GP services much more than I have had to before, both for myself and my son. My experiences have been very positive, receiving clear responses and being seen when appropriate. I particularly wanted to compliment one of the GPs I saw recently, who communicated all the information incredibly clearly and in enough detail for me to understand, I found him to be approachable and reassuring. Despite the pressures on GP services, I really feel the team are working well to manage what must be an overwhelming task!

My recent contact with the surgery was through the new Anima app and although a little frustrating to use at first, once I’d got my head round it I found it relatively easy. I’d just like to say a big thank you to the staff at the surgery for supporting me with my request which came out trump’s and the treatment I received is working well. All the dots did join up in the end, and I would feel more confident using Anima in any other event. Thanks very much to the team at the surgery for a job well done.👍

I have been with Lake Road practice for 37 years and I have always had a positive experience. I had an appointment last week, Dr was so thorough and went through everything and asked if I had any worries and took the time to listen. Have never struggled to get an appointment and have always been seen. Every doctor I have seen have always been attentive. Thank you for all that you do.

Impossible to speak to a medical professional. They employ people to answer a phone to inform you that they no longer provide services over the phone. The new anima app only serves to fob people off by txt message

We are sorry to read your comments and note you have done so anonymously. We have introduced Anima to improve the services we offer to our patients and enable us to run more effectively and efficiently. Anima is an online communication platform which enables patients to submit a request wherever they are, without waiting on hold on the ‘phone to speak with someone. Anima enables your GP to get to your consultation or request much faster than traditional methods. By using Anima, patients are helping their GP save time by providing all information for their request in one place. All requests are reviewed by a clinician and triaged to help us determine which patients can safely wait for their appointment and which patients need to be seen urgently so we can treat patients according to clinical need. We continue to offer both telephone and face-to-face consultations with our clinical team. We appreciate that there are some patients who are not able to use Anima, for any number of reasons. Under these circumstances, our trained care navigators are available to help patients by completing the request on their behalf. Additionally, we have invested in providing iPads in surgery reception to assist those who do not have the resources to complete requests at home. We are sorry that you are concerned about this change, which we see as an improvement to the services we provide. In fact, we have already been able to help more patients than ever with this new system compared to the old system where we could only take a limited number of requests and often had to ask patients to phone back or direct them to alternative services such as 111 or the walk-in treatment centres. Our reception team do their best to meet the needs of patients' enquiries. We have over 37,000 patients and can only work within our available resources and the number of appointments available each day. We do acknowledge that embedding a new system like this takes a little while to get any teething issues ironed out for both staff and patients and we are making adjustments and improvements to the new service on a daily basis.
