    Individual receptionist very helpful doctor very thorough there was a problem getting my info across from q a rheumatology I do not know where the problem is but when I was told it was sent electronically and I went into surgery 10 days later to get appointment you did not have my info so I had to chase it

    I usually go in to make appointments for bloods etc.or phone the surgery sometimes in a long queue sometimes not.but everyone's very helpful and much better now I can access. My results on line .

    Perfect blend of a technology enabled practice that supports a people focussed approach. Had a text to invite me for health check and options to book in response to that message. I Was travelling but called the practice a couple of weeks later. They went above and beyond to find a suitable time for me. I saw 2 nurses who were both kind and caring and professional. I needed some follow up appointment. The nurse booked one for me (so great not having to go out to reception to do it). Then they recommended e consultations for the other two. The receptionist gave me all the information I need to make these and even recommended a push doctor appointment for one. I felt empowered and supported. Really lovely team but also I was very impressed with the use of technology not to mention the speed at which I have gotten follow up appointments. For a busy working parent, this was the ideal experience for me. The staff and the practice have completely exceeded my expectations. Huge thank you to the people who saw me and helped me! I appreciate being able to self-serve with different e-appointment options, being away from work or my family is difficult and everything about my patient experience took that into account!

    I had an appointment today at the practice I just wanted to give some feedback. The Doctor I saw was very kind and understanding which I really appreciated. I know that GPs are very busy and have a limited amount of time to see people imagine this can be stressful at times however, I did not feel rushed at all and felt heard really and listened to by him, in addition he was able to advise about my presenting problem and was very helpful. So just a thank you for your kindness, I know the job you do is not easy but the appointment and how you were made such a difference to my day. Also wanted to say thank you the receptionists who were really friendly and helpful when I came in!

    Absolutely incredible service today. Can’t thank a certain member of staff enough for her help. Even though this staff member should have finished work, she took time to make sure that I had everything I needed. After her finish time she even called me back to let me know everything had been sorted! Great service and truly a fantastic member of staff

    I don’t use the surgery much however when I do I expect to be respected as your recorded message reminds us your staff to be treated in the same way. The receptionists, triage the calls without care or listening. The on line consultation directs you to irrelevant topics. The answer comes back via text without the clinical team having read the problem accurately. I then telephoned and was 19th in the queue The receptionist tried to guess my issues, kept interrupting me, I had to be fairly assertive to get her to stop talking at me and listen. I am now told I may get a telephone app. Sometime after the 14th Aug and have to commit to being available on that day and for a few days after as they can’t tell me when they will ring. We were assured the merge with the other practices would improve services It’s worse! I realise the pressure the NHS is under however it would benefit the patients if you listened to them it only takes a couple of minutes. We pay for your services may I remind you !

    We are sorry to receive your feedback as we do strive to offer the best care that we can. There are usually at least 6 members of staff answering the telephone so being number 19 in the queue does not necessarily lead to an excessive wait, but thank you for your patience. On this occasion your calls have been listened to and do not quite reflect the feedback you have left and we would be happy to discuss this directly with you if you still feel there is as problem as we note you seemed happy with the appointment you were given.     Having moved from the West Midlands 3 years ago where I was registered with an excellent Gp surgery, I was apprehensive of having to register with a new Gp in Portsmouth. I used to work for the Nhs for years as a admin staff and the pressure is huge. As a patient as well and having been on both sides of the service, I personally think the Island Practice is doing well. I don’t take it personally when they look busy because they truly are and considering the level of stress they have to deal with on a daily basis, I understand they can have bad days and sound a bit moody at times. They are as patients, human beings not robots. The Nhs is changing, it’s not only Portsmouth, it’s everywhere in the Uk. I have heard about places where they don’t have GP at all or the service is very bad. Portsmouth are very decent and again personally a big thank you to all the staff for having me.
