    Trying to schedule an appointment for the last three weeks even though the hospital issued the clinic a letter. They only make same-day appointments rather than scheduling ones and if are not lucky they do not even have slot for the same day. Today, 01.02.2024, I have been waiting in queue to schedule an appointment since 8 a.m.; however, the queue has been cut three times, making it impossible to even contact the practice. Very disappointment service.

    Dear Patient. We are sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at the surgery. We have listened to our patients and now offer pre-bookable appointments 7 days in advance we hope this goes some way to resolving the issues around same day availability only. In regards to the telephone cutting off this has not been heard of since we installed a new telephony system in December 2023.     Given the current shortage of skilled nurses and doctors, I have nothing but respect and praise for the way this practice works, and the service the doctors in particular provide. I have had to call nearly a dozen times this year and this review applies to each occasion. Yes one needs to make an econsult call pretty close to 8am, but then invariably a telephone call from a Doctor is received within a few hours, sometimes less, and always I have been happy with the recommendations and outcomes. So my heartfelt appreciation goes out to you all at Island Health. Thank you for all you have done for this 79 year old, not just in 2023 but over the last five years. I do have one pretty minor suggestion. I know this does mean more work for someone, but each review is unique and as such should get a unique response. Thank you again for all your hard work under extreme pressure.

  4. Review titled Fantastic Phlebotomist

    The male Phlebotomist is fantastic in the surgery. Sadly, many of his counterparts have left bruise and scars on my arm and my mother’s, however he is always very efficient and gives little to now pricking. He is exceptionally skilled and instantly knows weak veins and how to get blood samples as painless as possible.

    GP is extremely poor, i had to redo multiple tests due to records not displaying my appointments or my samples. Waiting time to be seen is a joke!

    Firstly the service of this gp is absolutely terrible, the receptionist/navigators are rude and reluctant to help. I was informed the gp could complete a ecg test and complete the required application - the forms, information and details were all sent over. After 2 months trying to book an appointment the gp supposedly cannot complete the application as they do not have the required machine or information. This was not stated by the doctor or the receptionist when I initially went to book the appointment. They made me wait for months, delayed my tfl licence and at the end I had to go private. The GPs don't look at the information provided and the staff there constantly have a arrogant attitude. It is impossible to get a face to face appointment and the online consultation is rubbish as most days they close within minutes. You have to chase up your own results and constantly call them to get things done.

    For the last 3 weeks I have been trying to get an appointment, I was told to try online at 8am or call in. People have work to go and cannot call in at 8am! I tried the online at 8.07am and it was already closed! It was not this bad before but this year seems just a disaster. Patients wants to see doctors not just hear excuses why we can't. Change the time of your online booking to an appropriate time to allow people to book appointments.

    The people on the phone line is the most helpful I ever spoke with, specially today (16th August 2023) the lady give me a back call a few minutes later, and she have been spoken with the doctor for my problem.

    My father had a heart attack and was atmitted to hospital. He stayed there for 10 days and a stent was fitted . On his discharge his repeat prescription was denied by the doctor . I was told by the chemist to speak to the doctor the next day. My father is 70 years old. He is on 12 different medication , he went to bed with no medicine today . I need to call the doctor tommrow.i even beg the chemist for medicine he refused. My father is on repeat prescription for the last 2 years on the same medicine.after 9am it's impossible to call island health.
