 . How on earth can a receptionist diagnose a medical problem, without any idea of the problem and no medical experiance, if you want to see a doctor that is what you want, not to be fobbed off by a receptionist with no idea. I was led to believe a doctor had to refer you to a physiotherapist not a receptionist. Like  Share  Share

Dear Geoffrey, Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent experience at our GP surgery. We take all patient concerns seriously and appreciate the opportunity to address them. I understand your frustration regarding the role of our reception team. However, it's important to clarify that our receptionists, now known as Care Navigators, are trained to direct patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional or service. This system is in place to ensure efficient use of resources and timely care for all patients. Care Navigators do not diagnose medical conditions. They follow established protocols to guide patients based on the information provided. This may include referring patients directly to services like physiotherapy, which does not always require a GP's direct referral. We strive to communicate this process clearly, and I apologise if this was not your experience. Our aim is to ensure that all patients receive the care they need, and we are continually working to improve our services. If you have further concerns or wish to discuss this matter in more detail, please contact us directly. We are committed to providing quality care and appreciate your understanding. Regards, Charlotte Wright Practice Manager Jubilee Park Medical Partnership

  2. Review titled Blocking access to care for sicker patients

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 December 2024

I recently missed a telephone medication review because I was on the train for work at the time and didn’t realise the signal was poor (I can’t take the day off work for such calls, as I have no more sick leave) - until I saw a missed call. I tried calling back but couldn’t get through, and had no text reminder of the appt. I explained all this the next day to reception, but despite this still received a letter threatening that I would be struck off the list if I missed a future appt. There is no way I can guarantee this, as I have been having the worst headaches of my life in the past 4 weeks, and know I will need further surgery following my neurosurgery. As a result, I now face not having a gp when I most need one. Their policy is well documented to block access for more complex patients (I know as this is my research area), so it is hard not to think this is a deliberate attempt to offload more expensive patients onto other surgeries — in the past a practice GP has complained to me that tests neurosurgery asked them to do came out of their budget. I am already incredibly stressed about these sudden headaches that leave me lying on the floor vomiting, and now I have to content with trying to find new primary care. I feel very unsafe as the hospital assumes I am under the care of a GP. In reality, when I can get through to the surgery, I have to fight to make them understand that I can’t wait four weeks for an appointment about a problem that leaves me unable to function.

  3. Review titled Aftercare

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 November 2024

Following a total knee replacement I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of support from this practice. I have been left to recover in severe pain not able to sleep after my pain relief was withdrawn 4 weeks after major surgery. It has held back my recovery as I am in too much pain to exercise and being woken up every couple of hours through the night has caused me extreme depression and anxiety. This is all due to my GP withdrawing pain relief as they said it is addictive I have never been addicted to anything in my 60 years on earth ! I cannot fault the care I received from the City Hospital but following my surgery the care from Park House has been non existent and I feel so sorry for the elderly and vulnerable who do not have family support or a voice to complain which is why I am leaving this review ! You need to listen to your patients we are all our own health and safety managers and most of us only ask for help when we are desperate ! My physiotherapist at the hospital cannot believe that my pain relief has been withdrawn 4 weeks post op and also agrees that is holding up my recovery i just want to get back to work! I hope that other people do not experience the lack of aftercare that I have at this practice!

  4. Review titled Compassionate service- going the extra mile

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa Dixon - Posted on 11 September 2024

I phoned Park House medical practice today (11/09/24) around 12.30 with a request about a sick note. I spoke to a very polite and helpful lady who listened to my problem offered a solution and promised she would do all she could to help. I have just been advised that the document has been received and I am so grateful to her as she has made a huge difference today to a family in need. Thank you

  5. Review titled Worried

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I am writing this on behalf of my daughter. She has had3 operations within a short time, she had her entire thyroid removed and is on thyroxine, she also had a full hysterectomy. For a few months she has been experiencing severe pain in her tummy area, which is so bad that she often feels faint and has to lie down.,this happens every so often,it has happened 3 times in the past fortnight.I urged her to phone the surgery, she managed to get through today but was told to go to the pharmacy, and that it’s probably acid reflux.I really don’t think that is the case and she needs to be examined, she cannot go on like this. Before this she was well looked after at the surgery,it was a Doctor who realised that she needed treatment for her thyroid (which turned out to be cancer) and he also noticed her swollen stomach which led to her needing a hysterectomy. But now I am worried about the pain she is having.

  6. Review titled Used to be so good!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 July 2024

The service at Jubilee House Medical Practice is now so poor. Two recent attendances regarding my son. First regarding his neuro-diversity. We had been going round in circles for 4 yrs trying to get a diagnosis. Eventually after giving up we chose to go privately. I booked an appointment to discuss our report to be told despite being conducted to NHS guidelines it was not worth the paper it was written on as it was done privately and they would have written whatever we told them to and that we needed Healthy Families to refer us to Paediatrics which is completely wrong. The Dr then got up and held the door open for us to leave whilst I was mid sentence. She was rude, unkowledgable and really quite incompetent! Her referral to Healthy Families was wrong! I also recently asked for a medical letter for my son who is 11 to be told that the Drs are not doing any letters for children as they are just too busy!!!! It was 11am on a Friday morning and the waiting room was empty. I have now had to self refer my son back to podiatry wasting their time, my time and a whole load of NHS money because the Drs are too busy to write a 2 line letter! Such a shame as used to be such a fantastic practice.

  7. Review titled Rude and unhelpful receptionists

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2023

I waited 9 days for my pills on repeat prescription because it hadn’t been signed by a Gp. I called the Surgery several times and I was told on each accession by the receptionist a Gp will be calling me today. They didn’t call me and I had no pills left. I had to call 111 to get help with this because when I called the surgery again at 6.25pm, I was told that the GPs were going home now. I asked the receptionist to stop them because I need my pills, and she whispered to me, that she couldn’t do that, and then they were gone. This has caused me much distress and anxiety. I suffer with Lupus sle and it’s difficult enough without having to deal with all of this. The people at 111 were so helpful and got me a prescription straight away, but My partner had to go and collect it at 9pm at a late night pharmacy because I was poorly. My partner had Been up since 5.30am so this was not ideal. All of this could have been avoided if a Gp had just signed my very overdue repeat prescriptions. This problem has happened a few times now, not getting my prescriptions signed on time. I give plenty of notice when I order them because I worry they won’t be ready on time. Then I get told, it’s to early to order your prescriptions??? The receptionist were very unhelpful and very rude. They just kept on telling me that there is nothing they can do. I think it would be a good idea if the receptionist and the GPS try to work as team and communicate with each other. I spoke to the manager and she was quite abrupt with me. It’s as if the surgery is split into two halves, with the GPs and receptionist. Do they ever communicate with each other. For example, at the end of there working day in the surgery wouldn’t it be better if GPs would speak to the receptionist to check if there were anymore important things they need to address before they leave the surgery. I get a strong feeling that there is a big problem with communication in the Jubilee practice, and I know lots of other people fell the same way. Kind regards .

Gender identity clinics are commissioned by NHS England and there are currently eight clinics available in England. The nearest clinic to our practice is the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health. How to find an NHS gender dysphoria clinic - NHS (www.nhs.uk) Gender identity clinics are multi-disciplinary NHS clinics consisting of doctors, nurses and psychologists, and cover issues such a fertility preservation, psychological support, medication and surgery. Unfortunately, these clinics cannot keep pace with the growing demand for these services and the average waiting times are currently more than three years. As GPs, we feel this is an unacceptable level of service, and we continue to campaign for more equitable care for the transgender community. This would involve not only more timely access to specialist care, but also continued resources to fund and train GPs to maintain prescribing and monitoring. Jubilee Park Medical Partnership continues to be very supportive of our transgender patients. From 1st April 2025, we are unable to continue to provide this specialised care for the following reasons: • This work is more appropriately provided by a specialist as it is beyond the clinical expertise and knowledge of the GPs to provide this service in the way that it should be provided • This work has not been funded as a national or local enhanced service • This work has not been commissioned by our local commissioners (the Integrated Care Board) • This work is not part of the GP contract If you would like to contact your MP to highlight the issues raised in this letter, here is some information which will help you do this: Find your MP - MPs and Lords - UK Parliament Please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee for further questions: Telephone: 0115 977 1341; Email: office@nottslmc.co.uk

  10. Review titled Patient safety Concerns

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 August 2023

I contacted my surgery after becoming very ill quickly, the doctor phoned me in the morning and agreed to prescribe medication however this was prescribed correctly and left me without the urgent medication. Practice Manager was very rude when I tried to get this sorted out. The facts remain, the practice made a mistake, struggled to sort it out and then thought it was relevant to argue back when I tried to get this sorted. Shocking patient care.
