Review titled Amazing staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5

There's now a new system of booking appointments where an online form needs to be completed at 8am. The new system seems to work very well, at 8am one morning I was able to submit two forms for my children. At 8.30am I received a phone call with appointments that morning. The Dr asked for child 1 to be booked in for further tests, I was expecting a few days wait but the lovely receptionist managed to book us in the same day for all their tests. I personally feel the online form is so much easier than the phone call, as calling at 8am I would often get an engaged tone & by the time I got through, appointments were gone. The medical & nursing staff are all absolutely fantastic & give the very best patient care. The Dr we saw was very patient with my youngest child ( who is neurodiverse ), he was also very thorough with my older child, giving the highest level of care. All the GPs at the surgery are compassionate, thorough, and truly do care for their patients. The reception/admin team are all very professional & helpful and will always do their best to assist patients with appointments & enquiries.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review on this site and comment on the staff and the service provided by the surgery. All staff here at the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre work hard to provide the best Primary Care Services possible to their patients by answering patient queries and questions. Its great to hear that the new system (Total Triage) worked for you and was a good service experience. It is new and only just up and running and we are always learning and improving the system along the way. This new system is to alleviate all patients calling at 8am to get a GP appointment. A clinician looks at these “online consult forms” and decides what to do when looking at these. To receive a positive review like this, motivates all the surgery staff and reiterates to the staff that they are doing a good job. Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre staff endeavours to do the best they can for their patients with the limited resources that they have. All staff will be made aware of these comments left on this site at the next staff meeting and again we would like to say a BIG THANK YOU for taking the time to leave this review. We really appreciate our patient feedback (genuinely positively constructive). Thank you from all the staff at the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre.

I always find that the receptionists are helpful and will try to facilitate getting an appointment as soon as they can at a convenient time to the patient. The GP I saw most recently listened to my concerns and went on to offer medication to hopefully resolve the issue.

Review titled Awful Practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Sarah - Posted on 23 August 2024
I tried for weeks and weeks to get an appointment but was always told there were no available appointments and to phone back at 8am the next day. I did so for almost 10 days. The receptionist who took my call was curt, rude and had no sympathy or empathy whatsoever. Every time I called they were just so unwelcoming and just plain blunt. When I finally did get an appointment, the GP was just as rude as the receptionist staff. They barely listened to my genuine concers, sat typing at the computer and didn't even conduct any form of physical examinations. I was made to feel it was all in my head. I ended up in A&E that night. Unfortunately this is the only GP in Kelvedon, but my experiences have been awful and wouldn't recommend the health centre to anyone.

Dear Sarah, Re: Awful Practice Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review on this site and comment on the staff and the service provided by the surgery. All staff here at the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre work hard to provide the best Primary Care Services possible to their patients by answering patient queries and questions. We are more than happy to investigate the issues raised in this review. You are more than welcome to call the practice and ask to speak to the Practice Manager to confirm all the below. • Numerous amounts of phones calls to the practice and no available appointment. • Receptionists Curt & Rude • GP rude as the reception staff • Service experience- has been awful and would not recommend our health centre to anyone. To receive a negative review such as this, warrants the practice looking into it and gives us a chance to confirm all the above with you as the patient. Help us to help you eliminate all the above and work together on improving our services. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you from all the staff at the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre.

Review titled Great Team

by Stephen Wren - Posted on 07 June 2024
contacted the surgery having been poorly for about a week. Despite there being no appointments available one was found for me. A consultation took place and blood tests taken which, which later revealed that a had an infection. On receiving the blood test results I was contacted by a doctor who then referred to specialists at Colchester Hospital as my symptoms did not indicate where the source of the infection might be. The Doctor arranged for me to attend the Acute Medical Same Day Emergency Care Ward at Colchester Hospital whilst providing medication to treat the infection. After many tests at the hospital the cause of the infection was finally located and further medication issued. The service I have received from all the team at the Kelvedon and Feering Health Centre has been nothing other than first class and I thank all of those for their efforts in assisting me at my time of need.

We will always try to help where we can even when fully booked and have no appointments left, we will try to advise and signpost to the appropriate services or departments where applicable. To hear you feel the service that you received from the Kelvedon & Feering Health Care team has been nothing but “first class” for you is a real boost to our staff morale when they hear of a patient’s service experience here at the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre, it makes all the challenging work behind the scenes worthwhile. The staff do work under extreme pressure and in an ever-demanding environment which is not understood or considered. Everyone at the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre are very passionate about what they do when it comes to the patient’s care and outcomes. All staff always try to help, guide, resolve patient queries and issues brought to their attention. It is good to hear about the positives as well as the negatives, through these comments we learn how to improve and collaborate with our patients to provide the ultimate patient care. Review titled Service that saved my kidneys!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Marie Thurlow - Posted on 14 July 2024
An e-appointment on 4th June followed by a blood test on 5th June, resulted in me being contacted by one of the practice partners multiple times on the evening of the 5th asking me to go to Broomfield Accident & Emergency as a matter of urgency. I was at work when the first call came through but had two voicemail messages, one text and, while I was picking up my voicemails, the doctor rang me again from the surgery at 7.45pm to ensure I had received his messages. He had discussed my case with the medical registrar on call at Broomfield and they were expecting me that same evening. Following admission at Broomfield, I was told I had 4% kidney function which I have no doubt would have resulted in kidney failure if my doctor at Kelvedon Feering Health Centre hadn't acted as quickly as he did when he did. I was transferred to Hammersmith hospital two days later where I spent the next two weeks undergoing treatment for my low functioning kidneys. Three weeks later I am now attending Hammersmith as an outpatient and am on a treatment plan. I am grateful to my doctor at Kelvedon Feering Health Centre, and his team, for going above and beyond to ensure they made contact with me as soon as possible to get me into critical care. Thank you again for such outstanding customer service.

I recently had to visit the GP and every single staff member I came into contact with were nothing short of amazing. The receptionist was so, so kind and helpful and got me an appointment straight away. The GP himself was extremely thorough, kind, compassionate and efficiently dealt with my problem. The pharmacy staff are also incredible. I'm on a weekly script and they are always so patient and accommodating when I need to change a weekly pick up date. Would highly recommend this surgery.

Review titled Great Practice, Amazing Staff

I only moved to Kelvedon in February, but I have several complex medical conditions. My experience with the practice has been nothing short of amazing. I needed a face to face doctor's appointment and the GP receptionist that day fitted me in straight away. I also take various different medications and the prescription clerical team have been so patient and understanding; especially as I'm on a weekly prescription and work full time. If I need to pick up my prescription on a different day, they have always been incredibly patient and helpful. I'm very happy with the service that the Kelvedon and Feering Health Centre provides. From the nurse that takes my regular blood tests to my face to face appointment with the GP - my experience has always been positive and would definitely recommend this practice.

We really appreciate your kind words and appreciation of this practice and what we do. We hope you enjoy your recent move to Kelvedon, the village, its community and scenery. We are glad to hear that you felt that your issues were dealt with accordingly and that your experience has always been a positive one and it is great to hear that you would recommend us as a practice. Review titled Great Service

I have been trying to get a GP appointment for 3 days but there has been none available when I have got through by phone. However, on each occasion I have received extremely courteous service along with helpful suggestions and signposting from the receptionists. This included an outreach service appointment being suggested and booked for me at the weekend. I have also had cause to ask for a referral appointment to be changed and, again, have received prompt, helpful and courteous service.

Dear Kathy, Re: Great Service Thank you for taking the time to write a review about the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre and your recent “Great” service (patient) experience here. We really appreciate your kind words and appreciation of this practice and what we do. We are sorry to hear that it took x3 days for you to receive an appointment, we do have, an advanced nurse practitioner, extended access appointments provided at the weekends and in the evenings, though this maybe elsewhere. It is good to take the opportunity to use these other appointments and utilise them. Where possible we will always endeavour to signpost correctly to suit the patient needs- there is a lot of outside coverage for this if you cannot get a GP appointment at that moment in time, which we appreciate can be frustrating for our patients. It really does boost staff morale when they hear of a patient’s service experience here at the Kelvedon & Feering Health Centre, it makes all the challenging work behind the scenes worthwhile.
