    My main concern regarding this practice ia the difficulty in speaking to the surgery. It was not easy at any time but since the new system has come in I feel it is much worse. I tried to let the surgery know that I don not need to be on the waiting list for flu vaccine but was kept waiting on the phone for 25 minutes hoping that I would eventually get to the top of the queue. In the end I gave up with sheer frustration. In the past I had occasion to need an appointment and though I tried from 8am the phone was continually engaged for 45 minutes and when I did get through, there were no appointments available. This is of great concern to me as I am Diabetic and in addition I need to have regular blood tests for Thyroid. I appreciate that it is a very busy practice, but in order to cope I feel more personell are needed .to answer the phone, I have no complaint against the staff as generally they are very pleasant it's just the inaccessability of being able to speak to someone on the phone. It is all very worrying and stressfull, particularly when you are elderly and living on your own.

    It is my experience with this surgery, that you have more chance winning the lottery than getting an appointment. It is simply impossible to get through any morning of the week. They've now introduced a new online booking system, which in all honesty is a complete waste of time. Your account is easily set up but, every time you log in there's no appointments available. As an example of my recent experiences: My father who was strongly suspected of having a cancer issue needed an urgent appointment. After continuous calls to the surgery, only to be met with the reply "I'm sorry there's no appointments available" we then attended the Clacton walk in centre and was eventually seen, to be told, that my father must be seen. The clinician explained that he had put through an urgent request, explaining that my father has to be seen. We was then told to go back to the surgery where an appointment should be made for him. Unbelievably, we was again turned away and refused an appointment. We returned home and called the 111 Service to get some help and advice on our situation. On explaining our situation, we were informed that you must be seen and was told that we (111 Service) would be contacting the surgery directly. Fifteen minutes later we received a call offering us the needed appointment. We was on and off the phone from 8am throughout the rest of the day until we were seen at 5pm. It is my honest opinion and can only describe this Service as utterly terrible and insufficient !!
