Review titled The Worst GP Service in Northampton
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Aminu seidu - Posted on 17 March 2025
I requested a medical letter from this GP to confirm my son’s inability to sign documents due to his disability. Despite making multiple requests and receiving no response, I finally received a text message—three weeks later—advising me to contact my son’s school instead, as they were supposedly more familiar with him. Seriously? This is a request for a medical letter. A school is not a medical institution—how can they be expected to issue such a document? Furthermore, my son has been registered with this GP for over ten years. For them to now claim that they are not familiar with him after all this time speaks volumes about the lack of attention they give to their patients. This GP practice is utterly useless. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve encountered issues with them—they have consistently demonstrated a complete lack of care for their patients. I take some responsibility for staying with them for so long, but this is the final straw. I am switching to a different GP, and I strongly advise anyone who values their health to stay away from this surgery.

Review titled Very poor service.

I submitted a change of Name form at the reception and the person at the desk took it, and when I handed over Marriage certificate which a copy was need of it she said it was not necessary. I insisted that a copy of it and my passport be taken as it show how my name should appear on my record. She declined taking only the form. Forward to a some weeks later, I call up the hospital to book an appointment with the specialist given my details only to be told no change of name has been attempted or done by my surgery. Called the Surgery and was told it had not been done, that I should fill the form and submit again with the evidence. I said I wasn’t doing that again and they should go look for the form i submitted be before. I don’t know if the form was found however, my middle name change to the new one while my Surname and prefix still did not change. Called the surgery to say my name change had been done partially and was told it would be done correctly. Few day later I get a text message saying to bring in my marriage certificate so that they can have a copy. I did not mind I took it in with my passport. Again I handed my marriage certificate and passport. The woman took my marriage certificate and declined taking my passport. On Saturday i check my NHS app and seen that my name had change but my new middle name was removed and change back to the old one. Called the Surgery today and said my name has not still been done correctly and the person who picked up sounding bored and did not give her name, said I have to come back into the surgery and fill the form again. This is now becoming a pattern, why ask me to fill a form, if at the end of the day something else is going to be written down? This is not the first time I have had problems with the admin staff, who seem to do whatever they like and don't care how their mistakes and errors inconveniences the patient. My name has been changed correctly on everything but my NHS record, because someone is really incompetent at what they do. Makes me wonder how my data is being handled if a form I submitted is misplaced and I am being asked a gain to come in and fill another form. What a horrible service!

Review titled Almost impossible to get an appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5

For two weeks we've been trying to get an appointment with a GP without success. The only way to get it is to call in the morning, wait in the queue for hours, only to have the call dropped or being told, sorry, we are busy, try another day. At this point we've called 111, been to pharmacist several times and all refered to the GP. No appointments for other days only on the day for cases deemed serious. Can i suggest that this approach needs to be reconsidered and get appointments for future dates as if some cases are not being treated on time they will become emergencies, as it is our case now with a simple sore throat going on for over 2 weeks and still no chance to get an appointment.
