  2. Review titled Everything is a problem

Rated 1 star out of 5

Ordering prescriptions is really hard and stressful. Receptionists are very unhelpful. When you manage to get your prescription, the chemist says it isn’t there. My Father has had a stroke so I simply want to get his medication but cannot again. If I cannot di it, how would an elderly person manage who has no family. I’m spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to get my fathers medication.

Many thanks for your feedback and we are very sorry to hear of the difficulties you are having with our system. The new system is in place for patient safety and to reduce waste. Prescriptions taken over the phone are one of the most likely causes of prescribing errors hence our need to change. We have tried to make the process as easy as possible whilst also safe. Prescriptions can be requested via the NHS App, our website, emailing the practice, bringing in a written note (we have pens and paper available at reception if needed) as well as pharmacies being able to request medicines on your behalf. If a medicine isn’t in stock at the pharmacy, we ask the pharmacy contact us directly so we can try to reduce the stress for patients and their carers. I hope these options do help your father and you but in the event they do not, please contact the practice so we can find the solution that works for you but is also safe.

  3. Review titled No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to make an appointment, sent a link to book one and the next available at my surgery is in two weeks. I need to see a doctor now, not two weeks. Completely unacceptable

Thanks for your feedback and we are sorry it is not what you were wanting. Due to the demand on general practices, all surgeries have been encouraged to move to a total triage model so appointments are shared on a clinical need basis. Your request would have been reviewed by a GP at the surgery, who felt that based on the symptoms you had shared with us via the form, a 2 week appointment was based on your clinical need. It is early days but overall, a large majority of patients have been very positive about the new system and it has meant we are now being able to see clinically urgent patients as soon as they need to be seen. We are sorry in this instance you feel your need was more urgent. If your symptoms have changed or you have new symptoms which would change the clinical urgency of your request, please fill in the triage form again so we can reassess the clinical need.

  5. Review titled Poor communication

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by CaH - Posted on 16 March 2024

Arrived on time to be told my appointment should have been cancelled, if I waited 15 minutes a doctor would be able to take my blood and give injection. After multiple people going in and leaving and checking with the receptionist that someone would see me I was finally seen after more than 45 minutes waiting. Very frustrating no alternative appointment available for over 2 weeks.

  6. Review titled Struggle to get appointments

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Lee harper - Posted on 24 February 2024

My work does not allow me to use a mobile phone and making a non urgent appointment is near on impossible, I can not afford to call every morning and hang on the line for an unmeasurable amount of time, to be told a doctor will call you back at a time that does not suit Me, The online booking service does not work and I am forever putting the appointment off because of the inconvenience, I am of an age now where My symptoms may be something to be concerned about, Please fix the appointment service to make it more accessible to the working people. 7. Review titled Great practice, very responsive 5*

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 January 2024

Called this morning to see if I could discuss HRT expecting an appt in a few weeks, they arranged a call back this afternoon. The GP who called was very knowledgeable and efficient, she took all my details, took time to explain my options and booked further appts to ensure that I can get treatment started. Prescriptions are being sent direct to pharmacy for me. I work in healthcare so am amazed at how promptly I have been responded to. I know other people struggle to get through to their surgery in the first place, never mind same day appts and prescriptions. Well done and thank you Kings Norton and Ashtree!!

I don't consult with the doctors very often but unfortunately recently I have had to. The service from the GP's has been fantastic and the reception staff are polite and helpful. Well done team.

  10. Review titled Awful Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 November 2023

I’ve been coming to this doctors surgery for a while now and it just gets more and more shocking every time I have an appointment. I was due to be seen at 10:15 for a quick appointment regarding my contraception and was left waiting for around an hour to be seen, and I was due back at work. Another patient was then put forward after only just checking in for their appointment so I was then pushed back even later for my appointment which is just not on. How someone is allowed to jump into someone else’s appointment is beyond me. I complained to the receptionist and they was of no help telling me I would be after the next lady which took another 15 minutes. Other patients were left waiting 40-45 minutes for their appointments. This doctors surgery is appalling.
