  1. Review titled Left with baby in waiting room for 1hr after my appointmnet

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 October 2024

my 11 week old baby had an appointment at 10.50. we arrived to the practice at 10.40 and check in at the reception. we were left waiting until 11.30 because the receptionist never checked us in despite telling us she had. we had to go up to the reception and check how long it would be for us twice. it takes a lot to get a newborn baby especially one that is ill out of the house early in the morning and being left for that long is not something you’d expect. people arrived late for their appointments and some got let in for their appointments up to 15 minutes early whilst we were left waiting with no idea if we would get to be seen for our appointment- even after going to the desk twice we still hadn’t been checked in, luckily the paramedic working in the practice came out just to check if we were there, although it was 40 minutes after our appointment time. i am extremely dissapointed in this experience as i’ve never had a negative experience there before, but being left that long with a newborn that has an infection has really tainted my views on the practice.

  2. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michael Haines - Posted on 07 October 2024

The total triage system works very well. Filled in form on NHS app at 7.30am and had a call back 40 mins later referring me to a physio appointment this morning. No long waits at 8am on the phone. Excellent GP practice.

  3. Review titled Very happy with my experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Leiha - Posted on 11 September 2024

I try not to contact the surgery for minor things but I had an issue that seemed to be escalating but wasn't overly visible. I emailed the surgery and had an appointment that day. The Dr listened to what I had to say and was not only very thorough, she explained what she was looking for. I appreciated how thorough she was. She prescribed me medication for something I still wasn't a hundred percent I had, just to be safe and I was so happy she did. The next day my symptoms got worse and the day after they started to get better. On my research, they say the sooner the issue is addressed, the better so I'm thankful that my Dr was so diligent and am keeping my fingers crossed for a full recovery.

  4. Review titled Incredible Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Harriet Walker - Posted on 30 August 2024

My immediate family and I are all patients at Kings Norton/Ashtree surgery. We have even recommended friends who have been unhappy with their own doctors to register here. They have all switched and are amazed with the duty of care, how easy it is to get an appointment and the phenomenal doctors that the surgery has. I have visited the doctors or had phone consultations over the past year for an ongoing personal reason and I must say the doctors I have seen have been incredible; very compassionate, they make time to listen and carry out all the appropriate tests. There is no way on earth I would move doctors and I am flummoxed with some of the reviews on the website. The online appointment booking form is also pretty straightforward. I made an appointment on the 28th August and got to see a wonderful doctor the following day. Thank you again to all of the team at Kings Norton/Ashtree and the other surgeries which are part of these practices.

  6. Review titled Everything is a problem

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Sally - Posted on 11 July 2024

Ordering prescriptions is really hard and stressful. Receptionists are very unhelpful. When you manage to get your prescription, the chemist says it isn’t there. My Father has had a stroke so I simply want to get his medication but cannot again. If I cannot di it, how would an elderly person manage who has no family. I’m spending a ridiculous amount of time trying to get my fathers medication.

Many thanks for your feedback and we are very sorry to hear of the difficulties you are having with our system. The new system is in place for patient safety and to reduce waste. Prescriptions taken over the phone are one of the most likely causes of prescribing errors hence our need to change. We have tried to make the process as easy as possible whilst also safe. Prescriptions can be requested via the NHS App, our website, emailing the practice, bringing in a written note (we have pens and paper available at reception if needed) as well as pharmacies being able to request medicines on your behalf. If a medicine isn’t in stock at the pharmacy, we ask the pharmacy contact us directly so we can try to reduce the stress for patients and their carers. I hope these options do help your father and you but in the event they do not, please contact the practice so we can find the solution that works for you but is also safe.

  7. Review titled No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to make an appointment, sent a link to book one and the next available at my surgery is in two weeks. I need to see a doctor now, not two weeks. Completely unacceptable

Thanks for your feedback and we are sorry it is not what you were wanting. Due to the demand on general practices, all surgeries have been encouraged to move to a total triage model so appointments are shared on a clinical need basis. Your request would have been reviewed by a GP at the surgery, who felt that based on the symptoms you had shared with us via the form, a 2 week appointment was based on your clinical need. It is early days but overall, a large majority of patients have been very positive about the new system and it has meant we are now being able to see clinically urgent patients as soon as they need to be seen. We are sorry in this instance you feel your need was more urgent. If your symptoms have changed or you have new symptoms which would change the clinical urgency of your request, please fill in the triage form again so we can reassess the clinical need.

  9. Review titled Poor communication

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by CaH - Posted on 16 March 2024

Arrived on time to be told my appointment should have been cancelled, if I waited 15 minutes a doctor would be able to take my blood and give injection. After multiple people going in and leaving and checking with the receptionist that someone would see me I was finally seen after more than 45 minutes waiting. Very frustrating no alternative appointment available for over 2 weeks.

  10. Review titled Struggle to get appointments

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Lee harper - Posted on 24 February 2024

My work does not allow me to use a mobile phone and making a non urgent appointment is near on impossible, I can not afford to call every morning and hang on the line for an unmeasurable amount of time, to be told a doctor will call you back at a time that does not suit Me, The online booking service does not work and I am forever putting the appointment off because of the inconvenience, I am of an age now where My symptoms may be something to be concerned about, Please fix the appointment service to make it more accessible to the working people.
