Review titled Recent surgery visits!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 November 2023
I speak for my wife as she is not computerised, Over the last three months she has had numerous problems requiring medical assistance, and we have found that the telephone appointment system has been very much improved compared to a couple of years ago, she has had many appointments for treatment at. Kingston crescent, Crookhorn, and Somerstown surgeries,,also St Mary’s walk in centre, at all these visits the staff have been very helpful competent, friendly and cheerful, they cannot be faulted.

This was an appointment which I had expected a face to face meeting to discuss my heart failure treatment. Instead it was only a blood test. On asking questions the nurse managed to find me a face to face appointment with a heart nurse a few weeks later.

Review titled 21 Century

The actual appt was fine given my last appointment was cancelled for somers town surgery and was cancelled on the day with a message re book. Like rebookng anything is easy with the practise. The appalling appointment (random) system phone at 8 and hope there are any slots left or the 7 pm lottery is made even more annoying by your website claims and the fact we are constantly told to consult a doctor first. I assume you think it's OK.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to assure you that we only cancel appointments, if we really have no other option, that said, where possible we will re-book an appointment where we can. Please be assured that we are very much aware of the access issues, demand in general across the NHS out weighs the available capacity, but there is no other way of asking a patient to re-book, if that is what is required. Media advertising can often be misleading as this is not bespoke to each individual Practice therefore, often an advert may say 'contact your GP' but this needs to be done via the Practice process. We are sorry that we are not providing a service to your expectations and will take on board your feedback.

The nurse was excellant, understanding and helpful. She was also very good at her job. She did a blood test and I didn't have a bruise at all which is very unusual for me.

I arrived very early and as a consequence was seen 20 minutes before the scheduled time. The lady who administered the jab was very friendly, informative and professional.

I came in for a blood test. The nurse was very polite and efficient and put me at my ease. She was able to find a vein straight away and the blood test did not hurt at all. When I asked what exactly the test was for, she answered my questions and explained what some of them were.

Review titled Measles Vaccination, (2nd jab),
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dennis J - Posted on 24 November 2023
Fitted me in for the vaccination when I called into the Surgery Reception in person. Excellent! Only problem has been repeated texts on my mobile phone (which is not a smartphone - so I cannot go onto the link) for me to have the second jab. Which, of course, I already had. However, I think the texts have stopped now. I did try to phone in but that was not a success.
