    The booking system here is ridiculous and difficult. They seem to try and do anything to not have to involve an actual doctor. You can’t request a doctor so the chances of getting a good one are low. On this occasion I was lucky but it’s taken a long time and that was just by chance. It’s a lottery with this surgery and one that I doubt has many winners.

    after repeated attempts I managed to book on line for an appt to see a doctor face to face, but the few appts available are not with GPs listed as part of the practice, so presumably temporary locums. there is no continuity of care as each time you may see different doctors / health professionals. the alternative is to join long queues on the phone or use an on line questionnaire system where you may wait up to a week for a response and several people may read all your medical information before a decision is made as to who is going to deal with you, so no privacy and little dignity in that. CQC inspections put the practice in special measures in the past and still reports it as needing improvement yet no sign of any improvement over a year later. I don't know how long Stamford residents have to wait for improvements, but family and friends in other parts of the country have much better services than this, yet it's all part of a national health service, I don't understand why our practice managers can't look to see how these others do so well.

    Trying to get to see or speak to anyone beyond reception is a challenge that I think most people give up on. I started on Doctrin for a back problem, I was given an appointment a week later to see a GP. Great, I thought. I was prescribed several painkillers and an urgent MRI. I received the MRI within 7 days. Excellent. The pain relief I’m still waiting for. I’ve message 4 times thru Doctrin to be asked by a receptionist, “ are you talking about medication dated ..?!” To which I reply “no” and re-explain the journey so far and what the GP prescribed during the appointment. Since doing this I’ve heard nothing. Today is 10 days since I saw the GP and 19 days since my original Doctrin enquiry. It feels like a war of attrition in that if the patient is worn down enough and ignored enough they’ll go away and the surgery will have less to deal with. I understand the pressures, Covid, funding, life in general but this experience is affecting my mental health and levels of stress and very probably exacerbating the problem I’ve originally come to you with.

    Today I had my Covid booster and flu jabs. The experience was outstanding. I was in and out in minutes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Couldn’t have asked for any more.

    Although the surgery has had a lot of negative feedback of late, I have nothing but positive. After waiting only 20mins to get through I booked a Nurse call back. I got my call within 2 hours and they could not have nicer or more thorough and we agreed a course of tablets following my review which the pharmacy had ready for me 2 hours later. Now that is service, keep that up and maybe GP’s will be a thing of the past. Well done Lakeside.

    Apart from the occasional visit where I'm in the waiting room longer than expected, sometimes up to 20-30min over my appointment time, I cannot fault the service I've received from this surgery. For the jabs I received today, I was in and out of the the surgery within 5 minutes. The staff always treat me with courtesy and respect.

    Last Saturday morning I had a double jab, flu and the autumn covid booster. It was a very well organised and speedy process that the surgery had organised. What dismays me is the negativity that so many people show towards the surgery. People were standing in my queue talking about the place in a pretty damning manner. I haven't had any problems with the surgery in the five years I have been a patient. We all know the NHS is under immense pressure, under-resourced financially and everything else that is well documented. However, let's remember it's free and locally the Sheepmarket staff are working extremely hard to give us, the general public, a damned good service - hence, credit where credit is due.......

    I was so impressed with the support and help I had from Stamford Lakeside....the team could not have been more personable or helpful. The Quality Care Commission may judge that the practice needs improvement but in my book there is not a lot to improve on. Well done and many thanks.

    My appointment was for a flu vaccine. When I arrived, I was offered the opportunity to have the covid booster at the same time. I accepted gratefully. My husband had been out of the country, so had been unable to book an appointment for flu vaccination. He accompanied me and was welcomed for his flu and covid vaccinations at the same time as myself. We waited no longer than 15 mins. Staff were efficient, kind and informative. They also preceded the vaccination by thorough and appropriate checking of our medical details.

    Booking for COVID vaccination at surgery, simple and efficient with pleasant staff. Reminder received prior to vaccination date. On date of vaccination, staff on hand to direct patients within the surgery building were also pleasant and efficient, and I was seen on time with all relevant information and questions addressed prior to receipt of the vaccination itself. A good patient experience on this occasion.
