    I have recently been seen by a GP who was nothing short of fantastic. He followed up with test results as promised and has gone above and beyond to help and reassure me. My main criticism would be the difficulty in getting through on the phone and general lack of appointments. Once you get seen, the service is excellent

    Reception staff are aggressive with no empathy. Called to day as issues booking a multiple issue appointment and was told with over 50,000 other patients it's unfair to deal with more issues for one patient. I advised if someone has an issue needing dealt with, it should be, it's not a cold sore i want looked at, it's serious issues including pain management, purse souter removal and wound review, sick note and swelling of left leg. Also ongoing issues. I was advised to go to the Urgent care centre. The usual reply a patient gets, even the Cancer patients. Seems to me this surgery keeps registering patients for the fee they charge the NHS for each patient they have on their books but have no capacity to treat their issues. Seems like a real money maker to me and people wonder why the NHS seems like an endless money pit. GP practices such as Lakeside are nothing more than a business, making as much profit as possible all costing the NHS and putting patients at risk. It's all wrong.

    I’ve been having weekly injections for the last month, that in itself has been great. Getting it setup however wasn’t so good! It took far too long to get set up! The nurse that’s been doing the injections and arranging for the next one, had been marvellous. She was polite, kind, well informed and in turn informative!

    Called today just wanted to change my password so I could order repeat prescription waited for 1hr and 30 mins in queue wast stuck at number 2 for 30 minutes so hung up. Will have to go to practice itself to get resolved. Should have separate number for account issues, useless trying to get through been trying for 4 days.

    I was invited to attend a group consultation as a potential candidate for the NHS soup & shake program. The presentation was well delivered by a doctor that had followed a similar program. It provided a good understanding of the nature of Type 2 diabetes and the benefits of joining the soup & shake program. It also covered an overview of the support that we would receive to complete the program. A good question and answer session then followed and this gained good participation. We were also given the opportunity to taste samples of several of the recipes. I believe all attendees signed up to the program and I am keen to get started as soon as possible.
