Review titled Totally inadequate
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2023
I made an appointment to have my injection for my cancer medication. The surgery at Langley Health Centre was given the prescription by uclh I arrived at the Langley Health Centre to be asked if I had that this Scription for the injection. As usual, I am expected to do all the running around. They did not have the prescription, and therefore the cancer jab was not given. I am now without treatment because of Langley Health Centre. They were already two weeks late and now I have a big problem. This health centre is causing me stress yet again. I do not ring these people unless I am really desperate. What is going on here I need to change this because it is causing me stress and stress feeds Cancer. you could never get an appointment, they never answer the phone. I find the staff totally inadequate. Something needs to be done about this as everybody that I know who uses this health centre is complaining. Why has something been done about this we are talking about peoples health.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your concerns. The practice does not stock all injections and we do require patients to bring certain injections for their appointment once they are prescribed. It appears the call handler did not inform you of this from your comments. Our nurse did prescribe this for you and asked you to return for the injection the same day. We hope you can attend when convenient for you to have this injection.

Review titled Excellent Pain Mgt Programme run by Langley Health Centre
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Divya Patel - Posted on 02 November 2023
I have recently finished the pain management programme held by the Langley Health Centre for 7 weeks, every Tuesday for 2 hours. I would highly recommend this programme to anyone suffering from chronic pain. It is designed to help the sufferer understand pain and provides techniques to help improve their quality of life. I felt that the presenter is highly experienced, she is approachable, has excellent understanding of what the sufferer is going through and her presentation skills, were outstanding. She provided in-depth information raising awareness for various aspects that are important for chronic pain sufferers encouraging each participant and the group to open up and discuss their concerns whilst observing confidentiality. I would highly recommend anyone suffering from chronic pain to ask if they can attend this programme. I have really benefited from attending it, it gave me a chance to take time out for myself, think about how and what I need to do to improve the quality of my life. It was also an opportunity to meet other sufferers going through their pain journey and led for some of us to become good friends. The presenter reminded us that we are not defined by our pain and encouraged each one of us to take responsibility for managing our pain by doing various things including seeking help if/when needed from other professionals like talk therapies etc so that quality of our lives can be improved. I have already made a few changes to help myself and I am seeing the positive results. A Big thank you to the presenter and the surgery.

Review titled Very poor experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 June 2023
I have visited the MSK clinic for elbow pain. The doctor suggested for few exercises and recommended to use private insurance if there is one for quicker treatment. Submitted the BUPA pre-treatment form 2 weeks ago. Paid £35 for getting the form filled. More than 7 days since paying the fee and no response. Called the health centre. On hold for more than an hour, starting with position 6. Current status: Suffering with pain. GP could not provide the treatment on time. Collected money for filling the form (Cash only). No response till now. Couldn't explain their poor service any better.

Review titled The worst practice

Each time I missed my doctor appointment because the doctor doesn’t want to call me on the land line. I work with children and I’m not allowed to have a mobile phone on me. Ladies from the reception not passing information properly. For them is just the job and I can understand, their truly don’t care. Only I am the one who suffers.

Dear patient, sorry to hear that you have been experiencing difficulties getting through to the surgery. All the receptionist team and the overflow centre are answering calls, however we do understand that the telephone waiting times have increased due to the winter season and how frustrating this maybe for our patients. Please may I suggest you use the econsultation service as this will avoid the long telephone waiting times, the econsultation service can be accessed by the following link https://langleyhealthcentre.webgp.com/

Review titled Outrageous service
Rated 1 star out of 5

We have been with the practice for many years now. It was never great but what is happening now is outrageous. I am currently looking after my mum who's being treated for cancer. The number of calls we had to make for silliest things is unacceptable. The doctor sending prescription to a closed, unknown, never used by us pharmacy which delayed my mum taking her medication on time. The number of calls I need to make every month to ask why her sick note has not been send despite the request being made. Not mentioning the situation when even the paramedics (who were called for my mum) weren't able to get through to the clinic as nobody was answering their calls for almost an hour.

Dear patient, I am sorry to hear you have been waiting to get through for such a long period of time. The call waiting times should not be that long and I would like to investigate this further to see if there is a fault in the system. Please could you call the surgery and leave your contact details with the receptionists, and the Office Manager or Practice Manager will return your call. I would also like to apologise if you were informed to call after 2pm as all our appointments are released at 8am and therefore this was incorrect information. Call waiting times are longer than usual, due to staff sickness and also the increased demand due to covid, cold and coughs. We do offer an online service, called eConsults which allows you to enter your symptoms online and we respond back to you in 1 working day. To submit an Econsultation, please follow the link - https://langleyhealthcentre.webgp.com/

Dear Patient, We are sorry to hear of your recent experience. All our receptionists and the overflow team are taking calls, however due to winter season the demand has increased and this has led to longer waiting times. We are always trying to improve this and will continue trying to do so by recruiting more staff and promoting the econsultation service. I am sorry to hear that the econsult service did not work for you on this occasion, we would like to look into this further and so if you could please contact the surgery and ask to speak to Val, our Office Manager. Thank you.
