  1. Review titled Room for improvement.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 November 2024

In the past I’ve had a misdiagnosis, which turned out to be quite serious. Recently I had a test done, only to be telephoned to be asked to come back in because they had been mislabelled!😕

  2. Review titled Excellent Service!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Margie Blackmore - Posted on 02 October 2024

Excellent service! As I was feeling poorly and tearful the girl I spoke to on phone was kind and sweet, had an appointment within 40 mins. The doctor was sweet and understanding also, diagnosed an infection, tablets in Boots all within one hour from phoning.

  3. Review titled A much better experience

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by SARAH WATSON - Posted on 04 September 2024

To add balance to my previous review, this morning I attended Langport surgery to have my shingles jab. The nurse was very welcoming, checked I was the right patient, explained what she was going to do, went through the possible side effects of the jab, asked if I had any questions and then asked me if I was ready for her to administer the injection. The whole experience was very different, I didn't feel like a nuisance, the nurse didn't seem bored in the slightest, I left feeling welcomed and cared for. Maybe during the time set aside for staff training, the subject of how to 'make patients feel relaxed and welcome' could be touched upon?

  4. Review titled Could be so much more friendly

by SARAH WATSON - Posted on 28 August 2024

I was called by text message for my yearly check and asked to make an appointment, the ‘link’ apparently expired after 7 days. As this was sent in July and I was abroad it wasn’t possible to arrange this in the allotted time. Would it perhaps be a good idea to extend the time frame during holiday months? However, I did later book an appointment, and I am afraid I found the whole experience completely soulless. One soulless experience was the fact the car park was very full, so I parked in a space at the side of the building – when I came out a woman who said she was a ‘member of staff’ informed me very aggressively it was staff parking and then walked away. As there are no signs informing anyone of this and it was an innocent mistake, it struck me that as I was a patient and could perhaps have had a difficult consultation or received bad news this female member of staff could have been more understanding and a little kinder. During my appointment I was seen by a PA who hardly looked at me, didn’t say hello or introduce himself, didn’t smile, didn’t explain what he would be doing or why at any point. ‘Stand on the scales’ ‘Did you ever smoke’ ‘Do you drink Alcohol’ questions were fired at me whilst he looked at a computer screen. Then blood pressure and blood taken all with no comment. Then I was free to go. I understand that the surgery is busy, and no doubt staff are stressed, under paid and possibly very bored with seeing patients. But I haven’t seen a Dr for over 6 years, I haven’t even been to the surgery for a long time. Do you think it would be an idea to encourage staff to be friendly, human and a little welcoming? Maybe staff could be encouraged to see patients as fellow humans and the purpose and reason they are there – rather than just a boring box ticking exercise. This wouldn’t take up any time, cost any money and it might just give a little more job satisfaction for staff as most people would be more relaxed and feel just a little cared for rather than a nuisance? I will await the outcome of the boxes ticked – and no doubt get a text message at some point. For this I will be very grateful, but it would be nice to feel just a little cared for and welcomed when visiting the surgery.

Thank you for giving feedback on your recent experience at the practice, feedback from our patients is important as it allows us to continue to improve what we do. I am sorry to hear the service provided did not meet your expectations. I’m afraid we are unable to extend the expiry timeframe on text links sent to patients, as this is set by the software provider. However, we welcome patients to contact the practice to arrange appointments if the link has expired. I apologise for your experience in the practice car park, unfortunately I have been unable to identify who you spoke with. With regards to your appointment, I will ensure that your feedback is discussed with the health care assistant so that they can reflect on this going forward. If you would like to provide further details or raise a complaint, please follow our complaints procedure found on our website, www.langportsurgery.co.uk/contact-the-practice/. 5. Review titled Too long to get appointments - especially after they cancel your original appointment!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 May 2024

I have been struggling with my health massively since moving to the area last year.. The surgery is struggling to cope with demand and I had issues before with them canceling my appointment. Today I had an appointment booked and the clinician called in ill. I know this can't be helped, but upon trying to rebook, it the closest available was 4 weeks when I selected one of these all were taken so I ended up with an appointment 5 weeks and one day after I was booked in initially and 2 months after first saying I needed an appointment. I have multiple other reasons I need to see a doctor and I'm left feeling I'm never going to be able to deal with it all. Had good first impressions of Langport Surgery, but am getting very disillusioned at the moment.

  7. Review titled Diabolical service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lorraine - Posted on 20 February 2024

I was left waiting at reception for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged. One employee was behind his window on the phone and the other two windows were closed. And this is a regular occurrence; I’ve witnessed it with other patients many times. The reception staff are so rude and simply ignore people who are waiting. Absolutely shocking service.

  8. Review titled Fobbed off

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Tony - Posted on 02 August 2024

A vehicle hit mine in the car park. I asked the person behind the screen if I could see the CCTV footage, or if they could look for me. Told it was impossible because of data protection. I asked for the practice manager. She refused to see me. I returned on two occasions only to be told the same. Flatly refused to see me. I went to the police. The officer went to the surgery. He was told to apply to see the footage. When he returned, he was told that the recording had been erased. The driver that struck me mounted two pavements first. Should that driver be involved in a far more serious accident, we know who could have averted it. On a personal note, I had a review of my medication on my birthday, 6th December. I had my weight etc recorded and told that I would get an appointment. I'm still waiting.

  9. Review titled Disfunctional

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 April 2023

When trying to order a repeat prescription that was supposed to have been sent to the local pharmacy. (not practice) It was later on a Friday when I finished work and tried calling to rectify the sitution, got through to reception who told me to call dispensing, I did this only to be told they can't deal with prescription issues and I needed to call back on Monday between 9 and 11.30am, I explained that this was difficult as I needed the prescription for the weekend and I work Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6.15 pm (in a primary health care setting) so I am unable to leave patients to make calls. The online service is awful too. We moved to the area 6 months ago and have had nothing but problems from being told to call 111 after filling in online triage forms for a call back and not receiving it, to not getting test results properly and then being told there was an issue but if I wanted to speak to a Doctor I would need to fill in another form for a call back at some distant future date. I appreciate we are all working hard and that sometimes things don't go to plan but I have yet to have any positive interactions with the practice. I only wish you had more choice of practices as I would happily travel to avoid having to use this surgery.

Always get an appointment within an acceptable time frame. The care I’m receiving at the moment has made me feel reassured and taken care of. Not easy in these challenging times. The experience is always professional, caring and thorough
