  1. Review titled Too long to get appointments - especially after they cancel your original appointment!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 May 2024

I have been struggling with my health massively since moving to the area last year.. The surgery is struggling to cope with demand and I had issues before with them canceling my appointment. Today I had an appointment booked and the clinician called in ill. I know this can't be helped, but upon trying to rebook, it the closest available was 4 weeks when I selected one of these all were taken so I ended up with an appointment 5 weeks and one day after I was booked in initially and 2 months after first saying I needed an appointment. I have multiple other reasons I need to see a doctor and I'm left feeling I'm never going to be able to deal with it all. Had good first impressions of Langport Surgery, but am getting very disillusioned at the moment.

  3. Review titled Diabolical service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lorraine - Posted on 20 February 2024

I was left waiting at reception for over 10 minutes before being acknowledged. One employee was behind his window on the phone and the other two windows were closed. And this is a regular occurrence; I’ve witnessed it with other patients many times. The reception staff are so rude and simply ignore people who are waiting. Absolutely shocking service.

  4. Review titled Fobbed off

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Tony - Posted on 02 August 2024

A vehicle hit mine in the car park. I asked the person behind the screen if I could see the CCTV footage, or if they could look for me. Told it was impossible because of data protection. I asked for the practice manager. She refused to see me. I returned on two occasions only to be told the same. Flatly refused to see me. I went to the police. The officer went to the surgery. He was told to apply to see the footage. When he returned, he was told that the recording had been erased. The driver that struck me mounted two pavements first. Should that driver be involved in a far more serious accident, we know who could have averted it. On a personal note, I had a review of my medication on my birthday, 6th December. I had my weight etc recorded and told that I would get an appointment. I'm still waiting.

  5. Review titled Disfunctional

Rated 1 star out of 5

When trying to order a repeat prescription that was supposed to have been sent to the local pharmacy. (not practice) It was later on a Friday when I finished work and tried calling to rectify the sitution, got through to reception who told me to call dispensing, I did this only to be told they can't deal with prescription issues and I needed to call back on Monday between 9 and 11.30am, I explained that this was difficult as I needed the prescription for the weekend and I work Monday to Friday 7.30am to 6.15 pm (in a primary health care setting) so I am unable to leave patients to make calls. The online service is awful too. We moved to the area 6 months ago and have had nothing but problems from being told to call 111 after filling in online triage forms for a call back and not receiving it, to not getting test results properly and then being told there was an issue but if I wanted to speak to a Doctor I would need to fill in another form for a call back at some distant future date. I appreciate we are all working hard and that sometimes things don't go to plan but I have yet to have any positive interactions with the practice. I only wish you had more choice of practices as I would happily travel to avoid having to use this surgery.

  6. Review titled Brilliant practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Always get an appointment within an acceptable time frame. The care I’m receiving at the moment has made me feel reassured and taken care of. Not easy in these challenging times. The experience is always professional, caring and thorough

  7. Review titled Pharmacy is snowed under!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Day before Christmas Eve went to collect my husbands medication. I had dropped off prescription on Monday giving 5 days. Unfortunately no medication can be issued until after holidays as the service can not keep up with need. Please notify patients so that they can organise alternative means- I just went to Langport Boots the prescription was ready in 2 minutes. Please organise a contingency plan- contact patients and notify of the problem.

  8. Review titled NHS at its best despite current backlogs and problems

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 August 2022

I contacted the surgery online on Friday 5th August and by 11.00am, not only had I seen the Doctor, but also had a blood test (conducted by the lovely Health Care assistant trainee) and agreed to a two week referral to Musgrove Hospital. By the end of the day I knew that I would have to increase my iron tablets with a follow up blood test in two weeks, which I have now arranged. In addition the blood test showed that I was at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes so needed to make some changes to my lifestyle. It is now 13 days (not quite 2 weeks) since my initial Drs appointment and have been seen at Musgrove for a scan and Clinician's follow up for the results of scan, kindly arranged at the same time by the appointments team at the hospital so I would not have to wait for the results which happily turned out not to be anything sinister. All the staff at the hospital were cheerful and efficient and I arrived at 9.30 and by 11.00 I was on my way home. During the time there, I also had my neck examined inside, via a tube inserted up my nose which sounds worse that it was, and out. The whole experience was exemplary. Full marks to everyone!
