  1. Review titled Unacceptable service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Lynn Kirby - Posted on 19 March 2024

Average phone wait time to speak to someone is 20-30 minutes. I have been waiting for a letter since Nov 23, when I phone am given different reasons as to why I have not received it, none of them plausible. Phoned to request a meeting with the Practice Manager to discuss, and was advised Practice Manager doesn't see people but she would call me. 3 days later still waiting for call. Now becoming stressful and exhausting.

I'm sorry your experience of our old BT phone system was poor. We now have a new phone system and the average queue in the last hour was 3 minute and 38 seconds. We have a call back system and to date we have had very positive feedback from our patients. I am the practice manager and I will make sure that all messages are forwarded to me. I may not be on site but will always return a call. I will speak to all the admin staff and ensure to communicate my open door policy to all patients. Apologies for your frustration but I hope you have found our new phone system more user friendly.

  2. Review titled Not happy with this surgery

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I called the surgery in late a December. Because I felt as if I had the flu. I was told by the receptionist that she would speak to the doctor and I should get some Amoxicillin from the pharmacy. She’s not the doctor! I asked if I should call back the next day, to find out what the GP said or if I could get an appointment. She said no. Thank goodness for NHS 111. I was able to get an out of hours GP who gave me some good advice. To get a repeat prescription also seems to be a chore I was told to come in and write down my repeat prescription on a piece of paper. Being at this surgery for just over a year, it’s been not that satisfactory. Most of the reception team are helpful but there are one or two that need to be more empathetic. Also when you go the the waiting area,.all the windows were closed even towards the end of the pandemic. I had to ask to have a few windows open as there were people coughing. My actual GP is ok. But the surgery itself could do with an upgrade. Now looking to move from this surgery even though it’s the closest to me.

  3. Review titled Not patient friendly

Rated 1 star out of 5

I waited three weeks for a appointment I arrived 10 minutes early and I then waited over a hour to be seen, the patient waiting room has two walls full of windows there was no fans no air conditioning and worse of all no water, how much would it cost the practice to have fresh water in the waiting room, my consultant at Whipps cross will write on my behalf to the quality care commission

  4. Review titled Very bad

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Very very bad service ! I am in shock - I called and said that my child has been coughing for two weeks and I want to check the lungs. I am given an address for this at Leyton, how is this possible??? wake up people, I live in Chingford and the easiest way to check your lungs is in Leyton! Of course the kids will die!

This service was specifically set up for children with respiratory issues so children could be seen immediately by specialists. This is due to Respiratory Syncytial Virus. We appreciate that the location is not convenient for all Waltham Forest patients but the idea was with the intension that patients have specialised care.
