  1. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

Having been ill since January. No help from nurses or reception. Finally saw a doctor in Apr told me to come back if no better. Can't get an appointment. I've even been down to reception no you have to ring in the morning. Surely why don't you go back to working before covid as it worked.

Nurse listened to me and made me feel a lot more at ease. I was very impressed with the communication and the fact that she actually listened to me.

  3. Review titled Great Nurse

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Janet Haughey - Posted on 21 June 2024

Spoke to nurse for medication revue. She was great, went through all relevant concerns. She suggested other things I could do to help with my symptoms. Made me feel more optomistic about my problems. You ask if I was happy about making phone call, I didnt, she rang me. Would like to see or speak to a doctor at some point, but am always refered to someone else. Continuety of a doctor would be more appropriate for an ongoing problem.

  5. Review titled Efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had annual review today. The appointment was easy to book by the online booking system. Appointment was on time and the support worker was efficient, friendly explaining the procedures beforehand. I have found this GP practice to be very efficient. Would definitely recommend this practice.

In my many years of visiting doctor surgeries, I have never received such kindness and consideration from all departments. The reception team were so helpful and the doctors considerate, efficient, informative and allocated time for me to offload my concerns etc. Thank you so much !

  8. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 June 2024

I recently was in touch with the GP practice after being unwell for a couple of weeks and trying everything possible at home first. I was given an appointment for 2 weeks from when I called them, however my illness deteriorated. I tried to bring the appointment forward with no luck. After phoning 111 I was advised that I needed to be seen by a GP asap so once again called the practice. Despite the nurse practitioner from 111 sending information over to the practice requesting that I was seen, I was still refused an appointment. My illness worsened and I have now been in hospital for the last 8 days. I feel as though I wasn’t listened to and the severity of how I was feeling was ignored

  9. Review titled They never answer the phone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 June 2024

Tried to call them over the corse of several days to try to have my issues looked at however no response had to take a day off work to go in person and they sent me away to wait for a phone call which i received at the end of the day just for they to book an inperson appointment several weeks after. It should not be so difficult to see the doctor.

Dear Patient I am sorry to hear you have not been able to get through to the practice via the telephone. We are aware some patients have difficulty with getting through so we have recently increased our phone queue size and added an option for a call back so patients do not need to hold on the line in the queue, which we have had positive feedback for. Our phone lines are always particularly busy first thing in a morning, we do ask patients if their query can wait to call later in the day to allow anyone needing to be seen on the day the chance to get through to the practice early. With regards you being booked for a telephone call in the first instance, currently for our on the day bookings this is the correct process for admin to book a phone call first, the clinician can then prioritise their list and contact patients. If you were contacting with a routine issue a face-to-face appointment could have been booked in the first instance at some point in the next few weeks. If you still require any further assistance, or would like to discuss your concerns further, please do not hesitate to contact me direct to discuss. Thank you, Carrie-Team Leader

  10. Review titled same patient deflecting service as always

Rated 1 star out of 5

by David Thompson - Posted on 21 April 2024

I recently tried to get a gp appointment and was amazed to find oat actually allowed to do me do so. filled in the relevant boxes asking to be contacted by mobile phone. received a text message saying I had been booked into a "Sit and Wait" clinic at Manton Street and advised it would be for up to one hour. I don't go around with my mobile glued to my wrist, even when ill most people still have things to do. I didn't notice the text until about 20 minutes before the end of the "sit and wait" hour. When I checked it had been sent 10 minutes earlier than the "appointment". Manton Steet is not exactly close by and even with a car would have taken 20 minutes to get there. I phoned and expressed my displeasure but the person I spoke to seemed more annoyed that I hadn't turned up for the "sit and wait". I was told a GP would have to phone, I asked for it to be after 15:00 as I'm at an age when I need to have a sleep in the afternoon and I turn the mobile off. I'm still waiting for the call but my wife (who was also asleep) said she thought she heard the land line ring at about 14:30. What is the point of asking for a persons preferences if no one takes any notice! I'm sure you will give the usual glib we are all very busy working 24 hours a day etc. My one question to that is doing what exactly! Avoiding patients seems to be the name of the game. So because someone either can't or won't look at my stated preferences, a "sit and wait" slot and a doctor's phone call have been wasted. But it's OK it was all my fault for not turning up and being asleep. Why stop at "sit and wait"? Just go back to the old system of an open surgery where you turn up and wait and wait while sharing each others germs, virus's and any other transmittable ailments. Make better use of all those empty waiting rooms. The other sometimes quoted option of changing GPs isn't really an option because greedy old Larwood has gobbled up all the alternatives. From what I've heard Newgate Street is no better. So that leaves most people in Worksop and surrounding areas very little choice. This is not the 1st review I've left and from my viewpoint very little has changed, Covid is now a distant memory but not the pre covid service. I won't be taking my Covid booster this year so you can improve your service with all the time saved! Another weak excuse used to explain away poor service.
