  1. Review titled Worst practice

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 September 2024

Had a bad experience for three months running, went to the doctors with my premature baby as was having problems with feeding, went more than once with this issues the doctor wrote a letter undermining me to my Midwife but it turned out to be exactly what I I’d said which I’d been into the surgery for than once. The receptionist are rude and for someone who struggled badly with mental health this place will make it worse, I asked for a letter and it was written with wrong information on wasn’t professional at all not even the correct medication was wrote down. This surgery is the worst I’ve ever been to the lack of care and knowledge is vast. I will be changing doctors so my daughter and I can receive the care she deserves

  2. Review titled Requires some improvement

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have visited this GP on three occasions within the last six months, each visit has been below my expectations. The practice manager has an attitude problem. I have heard the way the staff are spoken to and it is not pleasant. I do however find the reception staff and doctors extremely helpful and pleasant. Reception staff are very accommodating and will do their very best to find you an appointment. I found the waiting area is kept very clean and is a nice bright space. I do feel there could be more toys/books to keep young children occupied whilst waiting to be seen. The self check in machine is not always working and was not working on two of my visits. This could be fixed more promptly/two self check in machines could be made available.

  3. Review titled Great Practice, shame about lack of empathy front desk

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 January 2024

Rang today with a problem, I have covid so am unable to see the GP. Didn’t even require an appointment, looking for a script to be sent to my local pharmacy. Receptionist I spoke with yesterday was lovely and helpful. Today, the receptionist, had no compassion, attempted to diagnose me herself with a suggestion of perhaps I’ve had an allergic reaction to a cream I’ve been using. Perhaps it is a reaction, perhaps not, either way it’s very painful and I was crying on the phone. She told me to stop using the creams I’ve been using “just leave it alone” and to call back when I don’t have covid. That doesn’t really help me with the pain I’m in at the moment. This is by no means a hospital matter nor a 111, I have a photo of the area that is painful. I believe a quick photo to the GP would have easily helped in the meantime until I can come in for a swab. Instead I’m left in a lot of pain, applying cream I don’t know if I should be applying or not. This lady needs further training in customer service. I’m aware she is a long-standing member of staff, but the way she reduces you tears when you’re already feeling low is not acceptable. Have some empathy! It’s a shame as the rest of the practice are all very lovely and helpful.

  4. Review titled Empathetic and excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

When I telephoned with post orthopaedic surgery pain, I had unwisely run out of pain relief and was fairly desperate for help as I was sleep deprived. The reception staff dealt with my call promptly and with good humour, and arranged a same day phone appointment with my own GP. He listened to my symptom story and gave specific advice on medication plus reassurance and a prescription to further deal with the nausea. All this guidance was then sent in a text message in case my sleep deprived brain had forgotten it! Excellent care from everyone at the surgery.

  5. Review titled Kind and thoughtful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Rachel - Posted on 03 November 2023

Over the last 5 months I have been having investigation for cancer, a recurrent infection and my partner has been treated for asthma exacerbations and joint pain. We have have many visits to the surgery, seen a variety of health care professional and administrative staff at the surgery. They have all been welcoming, helpful, accommodating, kind and responsive. We have felt confident in their decision making, treatment plans and safety netting. We have felt supported and cared for.

  6. Review titled Received excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Visited the surgery today and received excellent treatment and advice from Nurse Jane. I phoned up after 9am and the receptionist got me an appointment 2 hours later which was great. After a dressing, antibiotics and some sound advice I already feel much better.

  7. Review titled Great service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I would like to post a positive review for Lawton House practice and the staff. My experience yesterday was great, from speaking to a lovely understanding receptionist in the morning, to speaking with the GP later the same day and collecting a prescription. I understand the great pressures that General Practice are under currently, and the service that I received was excellent. Thank you
