Review titled Problems getting through on the phone
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Jonathan Smith - Posted on 10 May 2023
The call handling capacity at the practice is patently inadequate. It is often difficult to get through in the cut throat scramble for appointments at 8am. This morning I rang at 10am and it took 42 minutes to speak to a receptionist from 8th in the queue. This is dismal service! Please employ more reception staff to ease patient stress.

Review titled Long waiting times
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I saw a GP who recommended blood tests for suspected anaemia. The waiting time for blood tests is currently one month which is an unacceptable long wait too assist in a diagnosis. Maybe the GPs should consider employing another phlebotomist.

Dear Patient, Thank you for raising your concerns, my name is Paula McDonald and I am the Practice Manager at the surgery. I do apologise for the waiting times for a blood test, we do have a back log due to unexpected staff/phlebotomist sickness and holidays, we did have a nurse leave last year to which we have replaced them with a new nurse who is still undertaking training at the moment, we are also training in-house staff to do phlebotomy duties and are in the process of hiring a locum nurse to try and reduce the waiting times for our patients. If you would like to discuss this further or let me know your details so we could contact you if a cancellation arises please contact the surgery and speak to myself or our Reception Manager. Kind regards Paula McDonald

I am leaving it's hopeless. I rarely go to the GP . But on the odd occasion I need to. I can't get in. And regular reviews just don't happen as they should.

I have only been at this surgery 10 months and they are absolutely amazing, always have appointments available for my baby twins. I receive text message to remind me of appointments etc which is great! This is the best surgery in the b45 area! All the staff are lovely and really helpful. Can’t recommend them enough!

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2023
Have been contacting the surgery 2 to 3 times every week since Early January 2023 from 8am to approx. 8.30am to get an appointment - when my call has finally been answered through the holding system i have been told every time there are no more appointments left for the day, and try again tomorrow unless its an emergency....or queue up at the door before 8am , how is someone at work supposed to do that !!! well what was not an emergency is gradually becoming one....not happy, not happy at all

Review titled Excellent
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Bernice Jones - Posted on 24 February 2023
A big thank you to everyone at the surgery. I can't fault the support and service I have had over the years. Recent experiences have all been positive and efficient. I have been contacted independently and proactively re blood pressure readings. I also had a GP appt and blood tests and within days received communication from the GP to explain the results and that a prescription was waiting at a local pharmacy. I have noticed such a beneficial difference in health already in a few weeks. I have used the online form to contact the surgery and had a quick response.

Review titled Unable to get a doctors appointment
by magpiere46 - Posted on 07 February 2023
I was told by two doctors that It was very important that I must go back and see them due to an infection that will not go away. After four weeks and numerous telephone calls I still cant get an appointment. I have given up and will try to treat it myself. I am supposed to go and have my BP checked now after a medication change. I have been told they haven't got any appointments in the next two weeks, The doctors haven't opened their diary up for after that and they don't know when they will. I have spent frequent mornings calling from 8:00 until 8:40 to be told there are none left. My NHS App will not allow me to book appointments any longer. I do not see how I can ever get to see a Doctor again
