  1. Review titled Repeated prescriptions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Katia Doonan - Posted on 16 October 2024

I have been with this surgery for at least 12 years as they have moved in the past from another address. It has been so difficult to have my repeat prescriptions, but lately it has been so chaotic truly affecting my mental and physical health. At the last diabetic nurse review my prescription should -as usual have been sent electronically to my pharmacy. No big deal, as this had been done at least for the last 5 years. No prescription was issued to the pharmacy and upon calling Leacroft Medical Practice, three times it was deemed that a code sent to my mobile would be the way forward to get the medication. No ,it appeared that the code was relating to an old prescription and ultimately the worker from Leacroft decided that I needed a medication review and guess what - with a practice Pharmacist who is not a clinician with an authority or expertise to add or reduce or change my medication if appropriate. the online reviews are truly accurate given one star. So not good I am also in 2024 unable to request it via nhs app Your sincerely Katia Doonan approved mental health professional

Dear Katia, I'm very sorry that you have had a frustrating experience with your repeat prescription. I can see that your medication was issued in July by the nurse, and the code that you were provided by our team was also correct - but it was over 3 months ago that the prescription was sent and it may have expired by trying to collect it now. I will investigate this and in the meantime we will re-issue your medication. I am also sorry you have difficulties ordering - we have 3 different ways you can order online, including via the NHS App, and I can see that is already enabled for you - if you are still having problems please do pop in to the surgery and we will try to see what the issue is. You can also order via our website at www.leacroft.co.uk Matthew Cullis Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Repeat medication saga

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Katia Doonan - Posted on 17 October 2024

Leacroft medical practice Manager response missed the point completely and lacked of appropriate response. We are talking about October 2024 prescription I have another 2 days before my medication runs out. received an email to say my request for repeat prescription was too early and there is nothing on the nhs app. The lack of responsibility is clear. All the issues in review have not been clarified to my satisfaction needless to se that I need to have a review with a pharmacist. My question is very simple where is my repeat prescription? it should be sent electronically to the pharmacy. All the electronic means to obtain the prescription has been exhausted and I do not think coming to the surgery is the answer as I work full time. What is the problem with Leacroft Medical Practice?

Hi Katia, I did try to call you yesterday to discuss - I am sorry that I misunderstood your original complaint, as it mentioned what you felt our nurse failed to do in July. I can confirm we reissued your medication yesterday - it should be available now to collect. There is nothing on the NHS App for you as firstly it was too early to order, and now it has been issued, so there is nothing to order. Apologies for the confusion. You do not need to speak to our pharmacist and we have cancelled the appointment for you.

I called for urgent appointment on Saturday morning and the receptionist was kind enough to understand the urgency and booked me an appointment. The receptionist welcomed with a smile. Very efficient. Had great experience as always.

  4. Review titled Unbelievably brilliant GP.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ross drummond - Posted on 24 November 2023

I wanted to write this review I've personally been going through a tough time over the last couple of years. My regular GP has been so helpful and understanding about my problems. My GP has helped me so much throughout my ongoing issues, is very approachable and understanding of my difficultys without their help I would be completely lost and thats putting it lightly. I feel my GP always listens and takes on board the things we discuss and will help me to access the treatment I need to the best of their ability. The support I've recived has been brilliant and I honestly can't thank my GP enough. Even though things are not great for me at the moment my GP has been amazing and very supportive and always makes me feel that im not alone with my struggles. The nurses are also brilliant aswell as the reception staff. I'm greatful that this is the surgery Im registered with and just wanted to say a big thank you to you all at Leacroft.

  7. Review titled Team effort

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Edvaine - Posted on 04 July 2023

It is amazing when we see a constitution, GP Leacroft Surgery, working together. Through "Menopause programme" it opened so many areas for me to look at. I could see women together talking about subjects that I believed no one was having and suffering. I could see real people opening up and being able to be heard and seek support they/we really deserved. This team together, on this occasion led me to talk about my past experience giving me the confidence I needed to break the barriers to overcome years of suffering. Some barriers that I let grow as I did not know better. I could see that with good professionals around me and their confidence empowered me to have the same attitude leading me to be a new person with a different prospective knowing I can deal with one thing at a time. It is normal to be sad, it is normal to feel lost but when you have someone/somewhere to go to its makes a huge difference. I am so glad that I have my GP to take care of me. For many years the professionals around me were asking if I was ready to be heard. I am very pleased that they gave me time to prepare myself to overcame my fears and be ready to take a new step in my life. Leave The Past , In The Past, Where It Belongs. Thanks for the effort that you do to be there for us every day.

  8. Review titled dont listen at all!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 April 2023

been having extreme lows and deep trust issues with the gp's here, they really dont listen or care, so i no longer bother with them even if i need it ... i was contacted by a mental health rep from leacroft i told her about my trust issues about the gp's and that id rather get ill than have to talk to a gp .. with alot of reluctance (because the service is so bad) i agreed to work with mental health not the gp's ... instead i get a gp trying to phone me for 4 days (even after i said i dont want to talk to them) and no follow up with mental health .. i have extreme issues with getting out and about so i live isolated from everyone .. getting a perscription is the worst because of this, the drs gave me a 6 didget code so i can order it over the phone, for over 5 months going on 6 the service has been down and not working which means i have to go without my medication for nearly 10 days or sometimes or more (depending how long the pharmacy takes to fill my order usually 4 days on top of the days i couldnt get hold of perscription) .. i recived a text last month saying the service was working again but low and behold i go to order my perscription and the damn service is still not working!! and you get cut off!! .... even when you tell them, they dont care or think about how there actions affect people like me ... open your ears and listen!! before it costs someone like me more and its too late .. i no longer believe there is any help and ill never reach out again thanx to these people ... they have added more stress to an already bothered mind thank you .. your more hassle than its worth can totally understand why people avoid going here... how can you run a surgery and not test your phone lines to make sure there working correctly ... even when there told they dont get it fixed its absolutly disgusting and the lack of care is dire

Good morning, First of all I would like to apologise for the huge delay in replying - this was due to a problem on the NHS website itself not publishing my initial reply, which they confirmed to me with a case reference CS0685095> To address your complaint, we are very sorry to hear of your difficulties with our service. Unfortunately a change to NHS IT infrastructure that is beyond our control has meant the automated prescription service no longer works; however, we can take prescription requests in multiple other ways - via our website (no login needed), via online services or in person at Reception. Any of our staff will be able to help you with any of these methods. Our GPs have to contact you if there are concerns about your health, especially as the mental health services are overrun and not always able to keep in contact with patients under their care (this contact then falls back to GPs so we can make sure our patients are safe and well if their more appropriate service is not available) - we are sorry that you do not want this contact and did not have a good experience with the GP you spoke to. We do have 10 GPs at the surgery to choose from, and we hope that if you have needed our help since, you have found a GP more sympathetic to your needs. Unfortunately mental health services are an external organisation to us and we cannot influence their follow ups processes - please contact them if you still wish to raise a concern. If you would like to discuss this any further please contact me directly at the practice. Matthew Cullis Practice Manager

  9. Review titled Avoid absolutely horrendous

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 January 2023

Some of the doctors are great and helpful Reception staff are horrendous and rude Couldn’t get appointment, the only way I got an appointment for my feet after 2 years suffering was to beg the nurse whilst I was getting a smear. I saw a doctor she was most helpful said I needed another appointment after 10 days if it hadn’t worked and possibly a hospital referral. Now I’m back to square one can’t get an appointment. My toes are getting worse and I can’t leave the house without being in pain. I guess I will have to use a walk I centre / hospital to get help because doctors surgeries may as well not exist. Hospitals are busy and this shouldn’t be where I need to go to get help when there are doctors/ GPS are here to help.

We are very sorry to hear you have had difficulties getting an appointment. Please use our website to request an appointment: https://leacroft.co.uk/digitalpractice/consulting-room/ - we have capacity every day, although we are usually full by 10am and sometimes earlier in the winter due to pressures across the NHS. If you can request an appointment through our website before 9, you will be offered a choice of times or kinds of appointment that suit you. We are glad that our doctors and nursing team were helpful when they saw you.

I just wanted to mention I saw I nurse this evening and I cannot remember her name but she was honestly amazing. Took the time to listen to me and took onboard everything I said. I didn’t feel the appointment was at all rushed and I just wanted to say thank you so much for listening!!!! Means a lot and there needs to be more people like you. It’s made me feel more confident and I really appsteciate it.
