The I feel the treatment I received, was professional, I felt listen to. The Dr seemed quietly confident in what he was saying. It's not the first time I have great service. I will always recommend Leacroft to anyone.

  3. Review titled Awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Elisa - Posted on 24 April 2024

It was my first time in the practice and I needed my son checked. This visit has been suggested by a speech and therapy advisor. Appointment was at 16.35 and I got there and signed in with the computer (I am new so I didn't know that there are 2 waiting areas and my toddler must have distracted me when the 3 second page on the monitor showed that) I waited over half hour before realising other people were going in before me. I asked the receptionist that saw me there entertaining a toddler for so long but never bothered to say a word and told me to go upstairs. I waited over half hour again to get in with a doctor that was so rude that if I wasn't there with a child I would have put up a fight for being treated like that! I was speechless! This is a place that should help you get better? I am not sure they know what they are doing! Completely unhelpful and unprofessional!! Already asking to change doctor because next time I see him I will treat him the way he treated me!! Awful!!

Dear Elisa, we are very sorry you had such a disappointing experience at Leacroft. We have 2 busy waiting rooms, one upstairs which is usually for doctors appointments, and one downstairs for all other services. When using the self-check in screen, the message to go upstairs is clearly displayed. We are sorry that you did not see this and we will investigate if the message can be displayed more prominently, for longer, or if the signage in the waiting room can be improved. Our reception team do not know which waiting room patients should be in if they have used the screen to check themselves in, so they had no reason to suspect you were not in the correct waiting room. The GP you were due to see tried to call you 3 times when he found you were not in the GP waiting room, and as there was no answer at each attempt he thought you may not have come for your appointment. He then called in his next patient so that they were not held up further, and asked our Reception team to continue to try to contact you. When they found you, the fact he had called in his next patient already explains the further delay once you had gone upstairs, and we can see your son was eventually seen 40 minutes after the appointment time, for which we apologise. With regard to the appointment itself, we are sorry that the GP you saw did not seem interested in your son. He examined your son’s ears thoroughly, as requested by the speech and language therapist, and found no sign of any problems with your son's ears. We understand the delays were a frustrating experience for you and are sorry that your experience at Leacroft was not satisfactory. If you would like to discuss this visit further, please ask to speak to me directly. Matthew Cullis Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Repeated prescriptions

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Katia Doonan - Posted on 16 October 2024

I have been with this surgery for at least 12 years as they have moved in the past from another address. It has been so difficult to have my repeat prescriptions, but lately it has been so chaotic truly affecting my mental and physical health. At the last diabetic nurse review my prescription should -as usual have been sent electronically to my pharmacy. No big deal, as this had been done at least for the last 5 years. No prescription was issued to the pharmacy and upon calling Leacroft Medical Practice, three times it was deemed that a code sent to my mobile would be the way forward to get the medication. No ,it appeared that the code was relating to an old prescription and ultimately the worker from Leacroft decided that I needed a medication review and guess what - with a practice Pharmacist who is not a clinician with an authority or expertise to add or reduce or change my medication if appropriate. the online reviews are truly accurate given one star. So not good I am also in 2024 unable to request it via nhs app Your sincerely Katia Doonan approved mental health professional

Dear Katia, I'm very sorry that you have had a frustrating experience with your repeat prescription. I can see that your medication was issued in July by the nurse, and the code that you were provided by our team was also correct - but it was over 3 months ago that the prescription was sent and it may have expired by trying to collect it now. I will investigate this and in the meantime we will re-issue your medication. I am also sorry you have difficulties ordering - we have 3 different ways you can order online, including via the NHS App, and I can see that is already enabled for you - if you are still having problems please do pop in to the surgery and we will try to see what the issue is. You can also order via our website at www.leacroft.co.uk Matthew Cullis Practice Manager

  5. Review titled Repeat medication saga

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Katia Doonan - Posted on 17 October 2024

Leacroft medical practice Manager response missed the point completely and lacked of appropriate response. We are talking about October 2024 prescription I have another 2 days before my medication runs out. received an email to say my request for repeat prescription was too early and there is nothing on the nhs app. The lack of responsibility is clear. All the issues in review have not been clarified to my satisfaction needless to se that I need to have a review with a pharmacist. My question is very simple where is my repeat prescription? it should be sent electronically to the pharmacy. All the electronic means to obtain the prescription has been exhausted and I do not think coming to the surgery is the answer as I work full time. What is the problem with Leacroft Medical Practice?

Hi Katia, I did try to call you yesterday to discuss - I am sorry that I misunderstood your original complaint, as it mentioned what you felt our nurse failed to do in July. I can confirm we reissued your medication yesterday - it should be available now to collect. There is nothing on the NHS App for you as firstly it was too early to order, and now it has been issued, so there is nothing to order. Apologies for the confusion. You do not need to speak to our pharmacist and we have cancelled the appointment for you.

I called for urgent appointment on Saturday morning and the receptionist was kind enough to understand the urgency and booked me an appointment. The receptionist welcomed with a smile. Very efficient. Had great experience as always.

  7. Review titled Unbelievably brilliant GP.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ross drummond - Posted on 24 November 2023

I wanted to write this review I've personally been going through a tough time over the last couple of years. My regular GP has been so helpful and understanding about my problems. My GP has helped me so much throughout my ongoing issues, is very approachable and understanding of my difficultys without their help I would be completely lost and thats putting it lightly. I feel my GP always listens and takes on board the things we discuss and will help me to access the treatment I need to the best of their ability. The support I've recived has been brilliant and I honestly can't thank my GP enough. Even though things are not great for me at the moment my GP has been amazing and very supportive and always makes me feel that im not alone with my struggles. The nurses are also brilliant aswell as the reception staff. I'm greatful that this is the surgery Im registered with and just wanted to say a big thank you to you all at Leacroft.

  10. Review titled Team effort

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Edvaine - Posted on 04 July 2023

It is amazing when we see a constitution, GP Leacroft Surgery, working together. Through "Menopause programme" it opened so many areas for me to look at. I could see women together talking about subjects that I believed no one was having and suffering. I could see real people opening up and being able to be heard and seek support they/we really deserved. This team together, on this occasion led me to talk about my past experience giving me the confidence I needed to break the barriers to overcome years of suffering. Some barriers that I let grow as I did not know better. I could see that with good professionals around me and their confidence empowered me to have the same attitude leading me to be a new person with a different prospective knowing I can deal with one thing at a time. It is normal to be sad, it is normal to feel lost but when you have someone/somewhere to go to its makes a huge difference. I am so glad that I have my GP to take care of me. For many years the professionals around me were asking if I was ready to be heard. I am very pleased that they gave me time to prepare myself to overcame my fears and be ready to take a new step in my life. Leave The Past , In The Past, Where It Belongs. Thanks for the effort that you do to be there for us every day.
