  1. Review titled Never Get an Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 June 2024

I have been a part of Lechlade since I was 5 years old but it’s so hard to get an appointment at all you have to wait 2/3 weeks. Same day if you call up early just doesn’t exist any more. the receptionists are so rude and so unhelpful. This new system just doesn’t work for anyone apart from the receptionists it feels like. Please improve!

  2. Review titled V poor Service

Rated 1 star out of 5

After 7 years with Lechlade Surgery I made an appointment for an Appointment yesterday the 8th to see a Doctor, until now I have only seen a Nurse. I arrived for my 9am Appointment to be told at ten past the Doctor was at the Park Surgery?? so I was asked to make another Appointment for 10.30am same day by the very helpful assistant. I returned for the 10.30 Appointment and was seen by a very unapologetic for her mistake Locum, yes she was friendly but an apology would have been nice something I think she could learn. All my contacts with the Surgery over 7 years have been over the phone assessments, (never have I seen a Doctor) so this was my first Face to Face and it was not very professional. As far as my Appointments with the Nurses I have never had a problem at all they always give an apology if they see me slightly late, but they also know where they are working each day?? and are generally on time. Not Very impressed with the Service given by yesterday's Locum after eventually attending my Appointment. An apology was all that was needed in my case for her mistake.

Have tried 3 times to call and (13.15) today and voice message says closed going onto hours of opening inspite of it being the above time on Wednesday. The on line service is rejecting my name and password.

  4. Review titled Unacceptable service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 February 2023

I called first thing on Monday morning at 8:30am to try to get a doctors appointment for my suspected tonsillitis. Frustratingly I was told I would have to have symptoms for 10 days before being seen by a doctor. Also, I have had a swollen knee for more than three months and I have been unable to speak to the GP yet, dispute trying many times to arrange an appointment. My knee has being causing me real pain and preventing me from going about my day to day life as I would like to. My knee shows all the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and arranging a blood test to try and diagnose this has proved incredibly difficult. The receptionists have been very dismissive when I've called and completely uninterested in giving me a doctors appointment for any of the above. This has been incredibly frustrating and meant I have had to have potentially avoidable time off work due to the prolonging of my medical issues. The level of service has not been good enough. I have been living in Lechlade 26 years and the doctors have always been brilliant, however the difficulties of recent years to get an appointment have become unacceptable. I hope this reaches the right person and positive changes can start to be made as I know plenty of other feel the same. Many thanks Lechlade citizen.

  5. Review titled Serious measures needed

Rated 1 star out of 5

Something needs to be done here. This surgery’s quality of care to patients is quite frankly awful. Nobody likes to complain about our NHS services but when they are borderline dangerous then someone needs to step in. Since major surgery a few years ago which has required to me to now have medications for the rest of my life and regular checks with doctor I have found this surgery to make me feel like I’m time wasting. I’ve had doctors try to take my medication from me, try to prescribe me medication that I have an allergy too and just quite frankly make me feel awful in myself. Even getting past reception is hard to book an appointment. The level and quality of care here at the moment is quite frankly appalling! It’s a shame as this used to be such a great surgery

  6. Review titled Emergency care, empathy and superb attention

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My wife took ill at home, and I took her straight to the surgery. After a few minutes we were greeted by a practice Doctor. She immediately put a plan into place after initial review and following an ECG etc she was transferred to hospital. In 5 years I have listened to criticism of the practice mostly answering the phone, so please allow me to say the experience (2nd time with our family recently) was first class all round from the Doctor, Nurse and reception staff. You could not ask for more and sadly I am not allowed to mention names but will drop a nice card off with some biscuits when having their deserved cup of tea!! We are extremely grateful.

ran out of tablets and was worried i would have to see a doctor ect to get some more. called this morning and spoke to a lovely lady who happily sent me another prescription over to the surgery. I know people are having trouble with doctor's surgeries ect but everyone is trying their best and we are all just humans so i wanted to add a positive comment

  8. Review titled Hit and miss

Very few regular serving GPs. Receptionists do their best. I've spoken to patient and helpful GPs, but at other times, they can be arrogant and rushed. Few are local and they work on rotation from Cirencester. The service has got noticeably worse in the last few years.

  9. Review titled Diligence and Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 November 2022

4 weeks after a bad egg and not recovered I needed help. Quickly called in to see a doctor and a proper examination. Blood etc... sent off for analysis with a very quick turn around. Followup texts and tel call allaying fears of anything sinister and coincidentally beginning to recover by own accord so didnt need the hospital appointment for a colonoscopy which had been quickly organised. Having thought I might not get the care I had been used to at this surgery following all the national press coverage on GP surgeries and nowadays always seeing a different doctor, I was very impressed by the time taken on me and the diligence shown. I very seldom need to see a doctor - nature and time usually cure me!

  10. Review titled Practice has one flaw (telephone) but lots of positives

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Robert Haining - Posted on 05 September 2022

Short of breath. Could not get phone answered (Monday). Went to surgery and treated very well plus saw a very competent doctor that morning which gave me confidence. Apart from suggesting a process review in reception ( people are excellent) for incoming calls, this surgery is far better that people around me say. Give them a chance and be fair!! My visit was on potentially the most stressful day of Monday and I witnessed a number of people trying hard to provide a good service in very trying circumstances. Nobody flapping, all under control and polite......well done to the whole surgery.
