When I call the surgery I find the receptionists polite, patient and the telephone is answered fairly promptly. I had a telephone appointment on Wednesday 4th July 8.30 am with this duty Doctor. Each time I call for an appointment it is mostly with this duty doctor. I recently have been suffering from a Stable Spine Fracture. He has listened with patience, kindness and I feel extremely confident each time I speak to him. I have been a patient in the surgery since I was 6 yrs old and I find this duty Doctor an asset to the Practice

Although it took a few weeks to get an appointment the GP was fantastic in suggesting next steps and assisting with another matter. The reception staff were great at updating items on my medical record and arranging a short notice appointment with the nurse - very helpful and friendly. The nurse was also excellent in updating my vaccinations. I was very impressed with how everyone at the Lee Road Surgery assisted me.

I've been a patient for nearly 3 years now. It's always been really easy to get an appointment when I need it, and the Dr's are always attentive. Punctuality could get better, but it's not a deal breaker. I like the fact I always feel listened to which has not always been the case in past practices. This time I called as last year after some blood tests a few things had missed the mark and I explained I had made some changes and just wanted to see if they had made any difference, it was quick and easy to get my monitoring tests accepted.

Today I had to have stitches removed. I have had a very traumatic time of late and the nurse who removed my stitches could not have been more sympathetic and supportive. She was also very skilful and efficient. I am so grateful to have received such top quality nursing care.

I rate all the GPs at Lee Road Surgery highly - I have multiple health conditions, so I've spoken to most of them several times. I had a particularly good appointment with one of the GPs yesterday. He gave me the time to talk through a difficulty I'd had with the NHS sexual health service, which was very valuable to me as my experience at the sexual health clinic has left me feeling quite bewildered - their refusal to remove a contraceptive device that was making me feel very unwell led me to conclude that women have frighteningly little agency in the eyes of some NHS services. So I really appreciated the opportunity to air my grievance and valued his sympathetic response. He also suggested a referral to a NHS sleep clinic for chronic sleep problems. I didn't realise that was an option and so was pleasantly surprised, as I'd assumed pills were all that were available. Many thanks to the Lee Road surgery team.

Called this evening at 4:21 as urgently needed to speak to a doctor, after having surgery by my eye 6.5 weeks ago, looks and felt infected. The reception said doctor will call you and we close at 6:30, needless to say this was not logged, when I called back at 6.10 it was the same person, she said she couldn’t see me on list but then said yes found you when I started having a rant. Doctor called me in 5 mins and confirmed they had only just been passed my details. Works out I have an infection and needed to start antibiotics straight away, stressful as chemists were closing 🤬 Poor service from receptionist. Sasha Courtney

I'm sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you had with the receptionist when you urgently needed to speak to a doctor regarding a potential infection after your eye surgery. It sounds like the situation caused a lot of stress and inconvenience, especially given the urgency of starting antibiotics. This has been discussed with the receptionist concerned and they have apologised for their mistake. Receptionists play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive timely care and support, and it's disappointing to hear that this wasn’t the case. I had a cervical screening at the practice today . The nurse was friendly quick efficient, and the experience was free of any discomfort. I have often felt in the past. Thank you, nurse j for your care and consideration. I would recommend any woman in the local area apprehensive about cervical screening to ask for nurse j. I hope she is teaching others about her best practices.
