Review titled Great Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 November 2024
The health care assistant I saw on Friday was very helpful and informative. She explained my results to me in detail and gave me lots of encouragement and tips on how to improve on them. The reception staff were equally helpful and efficient in sorting out my appointment with in-house physio. All in all, I was very satisfied with the care provided to me

Review titled Great and efficient practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Woke up with a red eye today, so was advised to leave an e consult through their link. I Was contacted back soon after, and prescribed my medication via the e prescription and advised to call up Moorfields eye hospital for a specialist virtual a & e consult for a review. I was given instruction to continue with my Gp's medication and to go into Morrfields for review the next day. So in one day, I managed to consult. My Gp, collecty medication and consult a specialist. Thank you so much for your efficient services to myself as well as to my family and your awareness of all the available referral services to ensure that we get the best possible care.

Review titled Best surgery, best service.
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dawn - Posted on 16 August 2024
Just wanted to say that I had the best experience from this surgery today. From calling the surgery with my concerns. The call back from the doctor and being able to collect my forms for the tests required the same day. Wow! Amazing! On arrival I was greeted by the friendliest of staff who even helped me with the bookings too. Highly recommend Lichfield Grove surgery. Best surgery, best staff

Review titled Disappointing surgery
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Petra - Posted on 05 July 2024
I am quite shocked that I was refused a sicknote after undergoing major surgery. I was in intensive care for 2 days and a high dependency unit for 4 days. I was told I would need 6 weeks to recover at home. However the surgery refused a fit note. I think they never bothered to check my notes at all and thought I was having minor investigations. This has added so much stress to the already difficult situation I am in. It's impossible to contact the surgery in person.

I would like to comment on my previous review as I cannot find a way to remove it. I was contacted very promptly and it was explained to me that there had been a misunderstanding on my part. Everything was sorted very quickly without any problems.

Review titled The receptions think they are doctors
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 June 2024
1. Minimal queues when you actually appear in the surgery. Especially compared to how it used to be back in few years ago. 2. Receptionists just think they are doctors. They are entitled themselves to refuse the appointment whenever they want. They can even sometimes refer to other practice, with weeks of wait time of course, out of hours one, but not to my doctor which knows me. 3. Even the nurse told me once that receptionists can refuse the appointment request, and I should be insisting on one. I don't know how to insists: I tell them the nurse said I need appointment, and they keep saying (at 8:10am) that they don't have slots for today, and surely nothing for upcoming weeks. 4. Which brings me to the statement that receptionists are liars. They lie to you almost every time. They don't have slots left (after being 9th in the phone queue) - a lie. They don't put on triage list over the phone - they lie - it is a matter of these pseudo imposter phone call centre level doctors to decide if they want to put you on triage list or they decide (based on their 'knowledge') that you don't deserve to be considered by the actual doctor. Absolute disaster. I pay few hundred thousands per month our of my salary completely for nothing.

Review titled Dangerous
Rated 1 star out of 5

Nowadays you need to leave five working days for a prescription and even then, it might say “approved” but in fact the pharmacy has not received it… which you may not realise if picking up a large prescription with multiple items. You get to find that out when you’ve run out of the medicine and look in the bag for a new box. What’s prompting my exacerbated review today? Once again I have received a text from a doctor, which I cannot reply to, telling me they have prescribed a medicine I cannot take. I could not discuss that with GP because the consultation was done via text, and I don’t have the option to reply to the message telling me what they’ve prescribed. Exactly the same thing happened earlier in the year. Same problem. Same prescription I can’t take. Furthermore the receptionists don’t know the significance of immune suppressant medication when “triaging” people which is dangerous. Someone on immune suppressants has (as a reasonable person with average intelligence could deduce) a weakened immune system and therefore infections need to be dealt with more swiftly. They should not be triaged the same as an infection in someone who isn’t immunosuppressed. When you call there are very limited options and limited windows of time to call for specific things - which is obviously useless because people are often working and not allowed to make personal calls at that time. The only way to speak to someone is either turn up in person or select the wrong option just to get through to them. Rarely do you actually see a doctor. If you do it is so rushed (despite the empty waiting room). Last time I saw a doctor I asked about MRI results which I had been told to discuss at that appointment. The doctor was visibly annoyed by my asking about the results and wasn’t aware of the message I had received telling me to discuss. No solutions to the abnormal results were offered. Only reason I didn’t push it is because I know one of my specialists has already referred to another specialist. Honestly this system is a mess. Maybe by “streamlining” the service they meant providing such an unsafe service that patients die off. Certainly would reduce the amount of work they have.

Review titled Poor care and appointments rare!
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 April 2024
I have been with this surgery for 8 years and I have very little positive to say! The chances of an appointment, even with an unwell baby or chronic earache where I was left for 3 days before begging to be seen, are unlikely. I have now tried 4 times to get a smear test. I am a capable person, fully literate and it is a battle every single time. They now offer only one day a week when a nurse is present (similar now for childrens jabs) and the out of hours appointments based elsewhere are not suitable or simply unavailable. Trying to book even a month in advance is impossible so it is a constant cycle of calling, having no success and needing to call back. The receptionist also tells me there is no way to email to complain to the practice manager, hence a public review. Poor to non existent care all round and poor communication. I am looking at transferring as soon as possible and also now have private GP cover as this is so bad. In contrast, my young daughter was seen within 2 hours last week when I was on holiday in a different part of the country! Unheard of at Lichfield Grove, unfortunately.

It is difficult to respond in full when reviews are submitted anonymously and it would be helpful if you contact me directly at the practice where I can go through your queries with you.
