  1. Review titled Back to Basics

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I understand we are all busy, we all work hard and have to get on with things. But my biggest gripe at the moment is the App used by our surgery, that's supposed to make things easier and simple! Feature for booking a gp / surgery appointment has been turned off for a few years! Now the Econsult feature has been turned off! Why promote these facilities if they are non operational? And if the answer is "We need staff to run them" ; then why spend resources on the staff rather than unused idle technology designed to simplify systems! Even the prescription part of the app has given up the ghost. After years of no issues, I can't even order repeats like I have done successfully for ages. Within the last three month, I have been sent repeat prescriptions to both Blackwell and Peak Pharmacy for the same script on the same day! I then couldn't order two months after so I rang the surgery to reset the repeat; of which I was told "oh, we aren't allowed to have anything to do with prescriptions", please call the order line. I did, straight away to be told to ring my surgery and ask for it to be reset and enabled online. I did, to be told that all calls are recorded and the receptionist would be told off for discussing anything to do with prescriptions.... They say its your issue and you say its their's, I just want my repeat prescription sending to the pharmacy. And to top it all off now, the practise is advertising taking in 'New' patients; I would suggest going back to basics with the care of your existing patients, ensuring the right first time and best practise philosophy.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. Please note that the app and e-consult services are centrally funded and not provided directly by Limes Medical Centre. E-consultations are limited to a set number each day, and once this limit is reached, the service becomes unavailable. Regarding prescriptions, these can be ordered via the NHS app, System One, by dropping off a request at the practice, or through the Medicines Order Line (MOL). If you’re having trouble with the app, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our reception team for assistance. GP practices can only close their lists in exceptional circumstances, and any such decision must be approved by the local Integrated Care Board. Limes Medical Centre does not fall under these exceptional circumstances at this time. Thank you again for your understanding. Limes and Blackwell Medical Centre

  2. Review titled Poor

6 weeks to get an appointment. Previously 4 weeks to get an appointment and another 4 weeks to get basic tests carried out. This practice has gone downhill compared to how it was before. Looking for alternatives. Will be going private next.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience has not met your expectations. The demand on NHS services has been growing, leading to longer wait times and delays in care. Many patients are facing extended waiting periods for appointments and essential tests, which understandably can be frustrating and concerning. Limes Medical Centre has recently recruited an additional GP and Healthcare Assistant, both of whom will be joining us this month. While this may not completely eliminate the wait times, we are hopeful it will help reduce them moving forward. Limes Medical Centre

  3. Review titled Extremely difficult to get an appointment.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Virtually impossible to see a doctor. I telephoned as I was in extreme pain and was told that the earliest I could see a doctor was in 5 weeks time. Alternatively, I could telephone at 08.00am for an emergency appointment. I called at 08.00am and after attempting 36 times I finally got through at 08.22. I was then quizzed by receptionist who asked "Are you sure that this classes as an emergency? They then informed me that they would pass my details onto a doctor but added "But they will be busy dealing with emergencies" So I possibly secured a telephone call not an appointment with a doctor. This isn't a one off, I have attempted previously and been told that the earliest appointment available is 3-4 weeks.

Dear Mark, Thank you for your feedback, your experience is valuable to us and I am sorry you felt our service fell short of your expectation. We always strive to meet patient expectation and deliver the highest standards of healthcare. For the vast majority of our patients we achieve this, despite the finite resources and steadily increasing demand for services that exists today within the NHS. Our receptionist are trained in patient navigation to ensure patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician. Since April we have installed a new telephone system offering a call back system, employed a new GP with additional sessions, increased access to pharmacists alongside Pharmacy First and secured access to additional appointments with a first contact physio. We are committed to providing better access to healthcare and ensuring that patients receive the care they need when they need it. Kind regards, Limes Medical Centre
