  1. Review titled Bad Experience.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Following the recent closure of our own GP's practice we registered with Lindley Practice in some haste without checking it out first; this was a mistake and we have now registered with different GP. My wife who is disabled and who sufferes from a long term, complex and degenerative condition, (compounded by constant chronic pain,) was immediately called in and informed more or less bluntly by our new GP that they intended to stop some of the medication on which she is dependent for any real quality of life. The GP in question seemed not even to have read my wife's notes properly; nor to accept the previous diagnoses of the other doctors and medical professionals who have worked so hard to help her manage and to control her disabilities. I do not believe that this person to have been acting in good faith or in my wife's best interest, (as a patient,) or to have much empathy with or real experience of dealing with disabled people with these kinds health issues. All things considered I would strongly advise anyone disabled and with these kinds of long term health problems to avoid this practice.

Tried to register with them, they rang me to tell me that they only accept within 1 mile (I live 0.9 miles away) and that I live outside the area (nhs website says they accept out of area). waste of time.

  4. Review titled Poor practice

No appointments available. Health issues ongoing and new ones unaddressed yet, just left to suffer. No out of hours gp service like before. Gps are locums so see a different person each time if you manage to see a Gp. Usually just see a practitioner if lucky to get through at 8am who is unhelpful. Dont feel looked after or cared for. Very poor service.

Dear patient, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am concerned to hear that you feel that you have received a poor service from the practice team. As all NHS Choices reviews are anonymous, I have no details to contact you directly. We have regular clinicians at the practice and not locums along with a team of other clinicians who provide additional services. Out of hours service is provided for all the practices in Oldham by the 111 service, you also have the option of the extended access service who operate in the early evening and on Saturdays. If you have signed up to the practice online access service when you joined the practice, you have the opportunity to book an appointment online yourself. You are more than welcome to ring the practice and ask to speak to myself directly to discuss any concerns you have. Please call 0161 337 3437 and ask for Mary Byrom, Practice Manager for Lindley Medical Practice Report review titledas unsuitable
