    I’ve had to find a new GP for my adult son after a breakdown. He found it impossible to get help from this surgery because the only treatment they’d ever offer was an SMI check. We could not understand why he needed so many of these checks every year until we realised the surgery receives a payment for conducting them. He found the GP s robotically filled out the SMI survey and no matter what he needed help with they’d ignore him or make some dismissive comment, his appointment for these checks would end without him ever getting any actual help. In crisis he tried to get help several times last year but was only offered another "SMI check only" and no further appointments were ever available. They do not care about his health only about getting another payment for yet another unnecesary SMI check. He has found immediate help and support from his new surgery, who understood exactly what he was talking about with the SMI check exploitation. The most vulnerable people in society should not be cynically treated like this and I would advise anyone with mental health problems to avoid this GP practice. They don't care.
