  1. Review titled Outstanding service!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Lynne B - Posted on 21 February 2023

I consulted this surgery for the first time in October 2022 for what was not a serious condition. Since that time the GP who took up my e-consult has seen me once in person and has contacted me regularly to get updates and arrange medication. They went beyond anything I expected to get to the bottom of the problem and I could not be more impressed with the treatment I received. GP's and the NHS take a lot of criticism at the moment and I felt it was time they had some praise for an excellent service.

  2. Review titled Awful practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Catalin Sindilaru - Posted on 07 December 2022

For the past 6 months, every time me or my wife, tried to book an appointment with them we couldn’t - it’s physically impossible. They don’t have a queue system so you have to keep calling continuously - and even so it’s always busy. Today I had 64 attempts and I just gave up. Yesterday I managed to get through, after a similar number of attempts and when I did the receptionist said that something was not alright and I should call back tomorrow. No other option than change practice or go private. Appalling experience.

Dear Catalin Sindilaru , thank you for your feedback , where I am sorry to hear of your experience in contacting the practice. Due to winter pressures we are extremely busy and our phones lines are busy during peak times. Another way to contact the practice is through an e-consult if you go to our website www.lockswoodSurgery.co.uk you will see a link to access that service. If you have an emergency we do run daily triage clinics. I will ensure your comments are discussed at our next operational meeting. kind regards June Thomson Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Outstanding Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a problem with my Covid record on my NHS login, a rogue entry was on there which was not for me. This was stopping me booking my Covid booster which I wanted to do. The surgery went out of it's way to ensure I was able to have it when my husband did. They did not have to do this but they did and for this I am very grateful.

  4. Review titled Receptionist humiliated me in front of other patients

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2022

It is difficult to get through to get an appointment, but once on triage list you can speak to a Dr who will decide what happens next. Most drs are generally good. Whilst most of the reception team are generally pleasant, on this occasion though, one of the receptionists refused to act on what the Dr advised me to do regarding a urine sample. This receptionist called me back from the toilets and basically humiliated me in front of other patients over what to me is a sensitive subject. This receptionist was rude and blunt which took me by surprise, saying that I couldn't leave a sample with them, and proceeded to say that what the Dr had advised me to do was wrong and to come back the next day. This meant that I wouldn't be able to start my treatment on the day as advised by the Dr as this would void my test results. I left feeling very upset as I didn't expect that situation to arise. I had to call back to ask to speak to my Dr again to clarify what I was supposed to do as I was feeling unwell and was now in a situation where starting treatment before a test could void the lab results, but delaying treatment could make me feel worse. This wasted more of my time and the Drs time. A senior receptionist did call back to apologise as could hear how upset I was, acknowledging a failure within the reception team, but it shouldn't have been required. I hope that the reception team are briefed on the correct way to deal with sensitive subjects, and certainly not block the course of medical action between a Dr and their patient.
