After being advised to phone the surgery around 15:00 hrs by 111 for my wife, the phone is not answered for any selection you choose. Totally disgusting.

This has happened a few times now and is soul destroying. Having joined the que as caller number 12, I waited 30 minutes to reach the top of the que. This element is fine, the system tells you where you are in the que and that 'your call is very important to us'. On becoming caller number one, the phone just rings out with no answer. Clearly the call is not as important as the system states. I appreciate that there could be all sorts of reasons why the call can not be taken, but surely there could be a message to say that 'calls are not being taken right now, please try again later?'. Rather than waste the time of the whole line of people who are being misled into thinking that they are waiting for some form of communication or interaction.
