  1. Review titled Terrible communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

I am waiting for some blood test results which I had done on 28th October. I have tried calling the surgery multiple times only to be number 1 in the queue for half an hour! Some days I have called twice with the same result. I have tried the econsult only to be told someone will get back to me by a certain date, which never happens. It is impossible to get through to this surgery.

  2. Review titled Loss of Personal Records

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I left a Medical Questionnaire, about 20 pages, with the practice on 7 August. I had filled out the form in order to start a new job and just needed it to be checked over by my GP and counter signed. I was told this would take 6 weeks. 8 weeks later, I contacted the Practice online and within hours was told my form was ready - only to be given a 'Medical Report' that my GP had produced. This was not what I needed and the original form I had submitted to my employer and could not get back in order to copy for the practice again. They didn't seem to understand what I was asking for and as yet I still have no form and am in limbo with my new job starting date.

  3. Review titled Forced to go private

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 September 2022

I tried to book an appointment at Vale drive. At first I was told that they had zero availability, I explained that I hadn't seen a doctor since 2018 and am on 3 medications and do need to see someone I was then offered an appointment in 3 weeks time. I need help now so ended up having to pay for a private doctor. I am self employed, no private medical and couldn't take the time off work to wait at a hospital emergency room. The level of indifference to my request for help was appalling. Truly terrible level off care.

  4. Review titled Emergency

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jo Cammack - Posted on 29 September 2022

During a routine blood test at Longrove Surgery last week, I collapsed. When I came to, I could hear talk of ‘blue light’ and ‘ambulance’ and as I was helped onto a bed, I realised that the nurse had had to call for emergency help as she was alone with me when this happened. It took some time – more than half an hour, perhaps much more - for me to feel vaguely normal again and all this time my vital signs were being regularly monitored and there were 2 clinicians in the room with me throughout. I am very aware (and was at the time) that this situation was extremely disruptive not only for the practice staff but also for the patients who were waiting, some of whom - I found out later – had to have their appointments rescheduled. If you are one of those patients, I’m sincerely sorry for the inconvenience I caused you but please know that if you are ever in a similar situation, the attention and care you will receive will be second to none. I cannot praise the staff at Longrove highly enough for the way they looked after me. The doctor, the nurses, the reception staff were all absolutely extraordinary in the calm, quiet, professional manner they dealt not only with my medical wellbeing but with the unfolding backlog of patients that was having to be attended to. Thank you, a million times, for your care, commitment and downright hard work. The immense pressure on the system is well known but when you glimpse the impact that one unexpected incident has, this really hits home. And yet, amidst all the disruption and paddling of feet under the surface, the senior doctor used this opportunity to teach a trainee doctor what to do in an emergency situation. In my semi-awake state, I felt truly privileged to witness this exchange as he quietly asked her what she might do next and discussed her responses. I’m sure she knows it but she is truly lucky to have such a dedicated teacher – as we all are to have our NHS.
