Telephone contact today (Thursday) to book appoitment for 10y old wirh breathing problemu due asthma atack. I have been told that till Monday niw Gp available as they are gone. I have requested nurse assessment but same answer. I have been advised to go to walk in centre. Why then I need GP practice when in most occasions answer from surgery is go to A&E or walk in centre? Very hard to book appoitment.

Thank you for your feedback and I am truly sorry for your experience. We offer emergency appointments for unwell patients, but our care navigator who handled your call was new and has since undergone training to prevent this from happening again. While GP availability can sometimes be limited, we aim to guide patients toward alternative options like walk-in centres or A&E when urgent care is needed. We have reviewed our processes and trained our team to ensure emergency slots are used appropriately moving forward. I sincerely apologise for any distress caused and appreciate your understanding.
