Cannot get to see my doctor even tho doctor told me to make appointment january.have to go to surgery to request prescription even tho on repeat but whilst ther cannot get appointment with doctor as cannot get past barrier of rude receptionists.what to do? How can this be happening that we cant get to see a doctor.ridiculous set up!

I was desperately trying to chase result of an investigation from my practice that was done in September 23. I sent message via my NHS app 2 times in october. First time I was asked to wait. Second time no reply from practice, after 7 days of waiting called surgery and was on hold for 1 hour before someone answered my call. Receptionist and admin staff were helpful and eventually were able to answer my query. Practice should have replied to my message in 7 days and that would have saved lot of mine and receptionist time.

I am currently 'caller number 4 in the queue' as I attempt to get test results. I've been holding 20 minutes to get this far, at the start I was 'caller number'. Are people being served or are they just giving up on being on hold? I know that in theory I could make an online application, but my account is locked for some reason and after holding for 18 minutes earlier today on that issue I gave up. Lordswood really do not offer an acceptable service ps update it's 24 minutes holding and I'm still 'caller number 4 in the queue', at this rate of progress i have another hour to wait, tricky thing is that they may close the lines before i'm 'served'

I am struggling with ear/chest infection… the Receptionist rang me back within 30 mins and offered an appointment next day! Cannot praise the Reception team and GP I saw highly enough. This is a very efficient Practice… only minus is that there was no water machine in reception.

On Monday i called in to the surgery for advice regarding very swollen and painful fingers and after seeing a very helpful receptionist ,she promptly arranged for me to see a doctor who thoroughly examined the problem, issued prescriptions and organised an immediate blood test , having fitted me in with other patienfs. Excellent service from everyone I saw, to whom many thanks for your care and attention.

The practice has introduced an in house mental health nurse and Wellbeing worker. Both services interact and are so helpful if you have well-being issues. I can highly recommend these services to anyone who is suffering with mental health issues and who need additional support regarding general wellness. A superb resource

I would like to thank Lordswood Surgery for enabling me to have some helpful modifications in my home,now that I am experiencing some mobility problems. The Health and Wellbeing Coach advised me to speak to a G P,who referred me to an occupational therapist. Two days after that appointment , the work was carried out. I was very grateful .. it has made a difference to activities at home. Also,the Social Prescribing and Health and Wellbeing are excellent services. Many thanks from an older patient.

Nothing but praise generally for this practice as regards myself and elderly relative. Am leaving this review though to alert people to the excellent call back service. I rang recently around 8.40am and selected call back option. Receptionist rang just before 9am and had appointment at surgery at 9.20am. Stunning!

I called at the surgery for my doctors appointment on Saturday 29th but the doors were closed. Being profoundly deaf I could not use the intercom which resulted in me having to ring the bell 3 times before someone waved that I could open the door….secondly, the doctor made an appointment herself for me to see her again in 3 weeks and to book a blood test on my way out. The receptionist told me that the earliest date was 6th June which is 5 weeks away. I asked if I could have an earlier appt so that the results may be available before my next doctors appointment in 3 weeks. She said that I could ring the surgery next week to see if any earlier ones become available, I told her that I can’t use the phone. She said to pop in each day instead which to me is not feasible. I feel that the surgery does not make much allowances for deaf people. I do not like to ask someone else to call for me as I know that there are long queues on the telephone which makes them exasperated when they cannot get through and are no 80 in the queue or get told that the surgery has reached its capacity for that day.

There is currently a high demand for blood test appointments and we are working hard to bring this wait time down. As a practice we are very keen to understand how we might better support our patients with hearing difficulties and I would very much welcome any ideas you might have to support this. Earlier this year we tried to establish a core group of patients with hearing difficulties so we could work together to make improvements but regrettably, the meeting didn't take place. paying £9.65 twice is a bit too much in these times of affordability. prescribed 2 boxes of my bp medication but pharmacy's computer system, linked to the surgery, says only 1 box, so I got only one box but charged £9.65 still. when I go for my second box later Im sure I will be charged again! Calling to book appointment is another not so great experience.

Dear Patient, Thank you for getting in touch to let us know you have had difficulty with a recent prescription. When an item is prescribed you only pay a charge for each medication so if two boxes of the same medicine are prescribed to you, you would only pay one prescription charge. The pharmacy's computer system is not linked to the practice but they are able to access the electronic prescriptions via their system and dispense what the doctor has agreed to issue to you. If the pharmacy have only issued one box of your medication, it is likely that this is what the doctor has prescribed. If contacting us by phone for an appointment you have the option to select the option to hold your place in the queue to save you waiting on the phone. Alternatively, between 10am - 4pm you can select to be put through to our pharmacy team who can help you with any medication related queries.
