  1. Review titled Wonderful Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 20 May 2024

We have recently joined the Loxwood Practice after previously being at a Horsham Practice for quite a few years. I have found the staff all friendly and attentive and the E Consult system extremely efficient. Quite a few times I have used this system and within hours I have had a quick response either by email or mostly by telephone. We can have a blood test on site where as in Horsham you have to go to Horsham hospital which isn’t always easy with paying for parking and waiting for ages. My daughter had a blood test today, she’s never had one before and was very apprehensive. The nurse put her at ease straight away and my daughter felt much more relaxed with the nurses encouragement and help. Her antibiotics were waiting for her when we finished with the nurse. It all went so smoothly. I tell all my friends who live locally what a well run practice Loxwood run. I highly recommend this practice.

  2. Review titled Excellent staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Matthew Lines - Posted on 27 April 2024

We moved to Loxwood from a Horsham practice 18 months ago. Having experienced a large practice in town for many years I can safely say our visits and interaction with Loxwood have blown us away. The staff are courteous and compassionate but also efficient and proactive. These are traits I remember from years gone by, and sadly now lacking in many larger practices due to overload and poor systems management in my opinion. One of my personal criticisms of the old system of telephoning or calling in at reception, is that I would need to try to explain my need to see a doctor to a receptionist. With the best will in the world, it should not be the responsibility of a receptionist to decide who will be treated and when. This was unfair on both patient and receptionist. I do understand the recent reviewers' difficulty with using the online E Consult process. However, once you master it, I believe it is a very good way for the staff to triage the issues. Perhaps there is a need for some help within the community for anyone struggling to use the new systems, both in explanation and also in the physical computer skills. Before anyone suggests it, No, I am certainly not the right person to do the training, I am far too impatient and intolerant!

Thank you for you feedback, I will ensure that your review is shared with the teams. We are pleased to hear that you are finding the econsult system useful and agree that when the new technology is mastered by patients it becomes a very useful tool and allows clinical triage and patients to be directed to the most appropriate person. For those that choose to telephone will still have to give the trained reception staff as much information as possible so that this can be relayed to the clinician so that triage can be completed in the same manner. We have taken on board your comments regarding training patients how to use the digital tools and have approached the Parish Council to see if this is something that they may be able to help our local residents with.

  3. Review titled Doing an Amazing Job!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mrs Lang - Posted on 06 March 2024

I've had reason to use Loxwood Medical Practice for various different reasons over the last couple of years including having previously been elsewhere. My most recent visit was something that could have been dismissed, but was thoroughly checked over with patience, undrstanding and kindness. This is a Practice striving to do the very best for its patients, and giving the best service possible at all times. They have always delivered the very best of care to my family in very good time. The practice is really well run with excellent information and communication, the admin team are extremely patient when you call with a query or to chase up, the reception team are fantastic, and the GPs and nurses are just lovely, thorough and patient. At my most recent I was seen by a fantastic student doctor. Would definitely recommend to anybody moving into the area. Well done all.

  4. Review titled Impossible to speak to anyone

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 January 2024

I appreciate you are using the econsult form which works ok but it is impossible to get to speak to anyone on the phone. The practice is barely functional and it basically means everyone heads to minor injuries or A&E as they can't be seen by their local doctor. It is a complete disaster since covid.

It was disappointing to read this Anonymous comment. Econsult is our preferred method of contact for any clinical concern as this is triaged and signposted by a clinician to the most appropriate person. Patients can also contact the surgery by telephone, we have increased the number of phone lines and staff available to answer them, but due to the current pressures on the NHS and unprecedented demand for our services since Covid we are aware that at times this might not be sufficient. The practice is providing a mixture of face to face appointments and telephone consultations to a growing population. We would welcome you contacting the practice via email sxicb-wsx.complaints.loxwoodmedicalpractice@nhs.net to let us have a little more detail as to what prompted you to write the comments as we would like to resolve any issues if they are in a power to do so. Thank you Dr Mark Piper
